20.01.2022 What an amazing week we have had! Watching our children interact and play in mud with the biggest smiles on their faces. This sure does beat technology and being stuck inside. Thank you to all our parents for your support in mud week and for seeing the brighter side to this experience.

19.01.2022 Welcome to our new learning room! A space designed to help our little legends prepare for big school. This space has been an amazing addition to our service as it is supporting the children understand the expectations of a school setting. School readiness isn't all about the writing, ABC,s and counting though. Our staff work around the clock ensuring children are confident in self help skills, communication and friendships, conflict resolution, problem solving and so much mo...re. This work is done over a period of time, which means we begin supporting our children from 3 to develop and build these essential skills. 13.01.2022 The recent devastating events have effected even our youngest generation. Many discussions have taken place at Sugarvalley ELC over the past few weeks with the children's thoughts and concerns being put across into paintings of bush fires, rain, and what Australia means to them in their eyes, everyday play (rebuilding homes for the wildlife) and interactions with educators, friends and families about the concern they have for the firefighters and people affected. we asked the... children today "what are you grateful for"? 1- "All the Fire fighters that have been helping and saving us" 2- "The people helping the animals and the koala hospital" 3- "people helping each other be safe". 11.01.2022 Exploring, engaging and playing = Learning! In these photos you may see children playing and having fun, but to childcare educators we see more. We see children taking risks, children learning maths, colours, problem solving, hypothesising, sensory awareness, connections to their environment and friends and so much more. Play helps build children’s skills. Allowing them to take risks and try things on their own is so important for children’s learning and development.

Throughout NAIDOC week we have been able to learn more meaning behind our acknowledgement and how important connection to our land and community is. Our children wish to share with you all our acknowledgement and heads and shoulders in Awabakal language.

06.01.2022 At Sugarvalley ELC we do everything we can to ensure all children are included and supported in all daily tasks and recognizing individual needs. Over the years we have noticed more and more children struggling with anxiety, and with all the changes to 2020 now more then ever. We have found a online program for parents to join for free and check whether your child could be showing signs of anxiety.
