25.01.2022 Did you know more than 690,000 Australians aged 18+ live with complex mental health issues? Our friends at @saneaustralia and @melbpsychtalks want to find out if and how these issues impact the way others treat you. You can find out more & complete the survey online www.ourturntospeak.com.au or call 1800 998 983 #OurTurntoSpeak #survey

25.01.2022 So, sometimes certain tasks may seem impossible or overwhelming because we feel we won't be able to 'do it right', it won't be 'good enough' or it might not turn out 'perfectly'. But are others putting that pressure on us or are we actually setting our own standards too high (& therefore always feel bad about ourselves?). Perhaps, even just for today, take a leaf out of this cat's book, and allow yourself to be ok with whatever you achieve, no matter how big or small - you are giving it a go and that's what matters!!! (Click on the pic).

24.01.2022 We are so unbelievably grateful for the ongoing support we receive from Mental Awareness Foundation that allows us to provide our ongoing care and support to those contemplating suicide and their support networks. MAF are so passionate in everything they do to raise awareness such as the #walkforawareness and we are truly blessed to be a part of their journey.

10.01.2022 Today is R U OK? Day, right on the heels of World Suicide Prevention Day yesterday. Both are a timely reminder to be mindful and aware of those around you - your family, friends, your work colleagues, your neighbours, people in your community, your "village"....You don't need to overcomplicate it - if you feel that something isnt right then have a conversation. Coming from a place of curiosity, care and compassion is really all that is required.... And most importantly, do it everyday. Ask people you come across "how's it going" - but be sure to listen to the answer with interest, awareness and authenticity. It takes a village to prevent suicide. x

06.01.2022 TERM 1, 2020 TIMETABLES Peach Tree House is a Parent Wellbeing Centre, where we run a large range of programs, groups and activities all aimed at promoting well...being and providing support for those who are parenting infants and young children (0 - 5years). Peach Tree House is a 'safe space', where we provide non-judgmental, person centred care for individuals who may be experiencing wellbeing challenges related to pregnancy, birth and early parenthood. What's different and unique about Peach Tree? All of our services are led by mothers who have first hand been through the difficult and rocky terrain of motherhood and mental illness - and have come through the other side. We are able to use our "Lived Experience" to provide compassionate understanding ...and most importantly, offer hope that better times will come! Peach Tree operates from three different locations across Brisbane, in Geebung, Morayfield and Springwood. We believe passionately about reducing barriers to support - and that EVERY parent who needs it, is entitled to have a Village of Support. Therefore, all of our services are FREE or as low cost as possible (usually a gold coin donation) and you do not need a referral or a mental health care plan to join in. In Term 1 2020, Peach Tree House will be offering: Peer Support Groups for mothers experiencing wellbeing challenges related to pregnancy, birth and early parenthood. 06.01.2022 SPP are here to support you. Be Safe and Be Kind https://mailchi.mp/323d/spp-supporting-you-through-covid-19

04.01.2022 Why is it that we tend to be hard on ourselves rather than kind when things go wrong? Would we speak to our best friend the way we tend to speak to ourselves? Most probably not! See if you can catch your thoughts next time you are being hard on yourself and apply this helpful tool to respond with kindness, because guess what?..... You are worth it!!!

04.01.2022 Happy Fri-Yay Everyone! Hugs to all!!!

04.01.2022 Australian men's health is in crisis. A huge barrier to help-seeking is the stigma attached to mental health, the fear of being judged or appearing vulnerable or week. However the opposite is true, Beyond Blue commissioned a study which found the stigma only applies to themselves and will often speak positively about friends who are dealing with depression or a depressive state of mind. "If you can say to somebody I'm not great right now, I need some support then that's mission accomplished" - Will - If you need to talk to someone- Mensline 1300 789 978, Free, 24/7

03.01.2022 Take time for yourself and Enjoy this meditation on Self compassion from our friends at Biyome

02.01.2022 1st of October ~ Brings in a new month. October is about mental health, awareness and engagement. Wed like to start this month off by bringing awareness to mental wellbeing. We as humans continually fluctuate on the spectrum of physical and emotional wellbeing, this is normal and even though some days it doesnt feel normal or ok, these days are the days we need to be extra mindful of our self talk, our thoughts and our behaviours. Be extra kind to yourself on these hard day...s. Speak and treat yourself how youd speak and treat the most loved and treasured person or animal in your world ~ with compassion. Engage in self care activities ~ what these are differ for all of us. Some of us like the gym, some yoga and meditation, some bushwalking, cycling, sitting at the beach, listening to our favourite bands or resting, pausing and just being present. So today and throughout this month dedicated to mental wellbeing ~ be mindful, be kind and compassionate to yourself and engage ~ engage in something that brings you joy, even if only for a moment. Moments can add up. See more
