23.01.2022 Return to Contact Training. SUJC has returned to contact training, at the weekday and weekend training sessions. The opening up of our sessions to contact training is a result of the recent drop in the daily count of new cases of Covid-19 reported. However, should the numbers of new cases significantly increase, non-contact training will be reinstated. Prior to Attending Training Before entering the dojo or participating in judo activities, participants (including officials,... staff, volunteers, parents/carers) should not attend training if in the past 14 days they have: been unwell or had any flu-like symptoms, fever, cough, or been in contact with a known or suspected case of COVID-19, or have visited Victoria in the 14 days prior, or have attended any of the reported case locations listed on the NSW Health website (https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/latest-news-and-updates),or any sudden loss of smell or loss of taste, or are at a high risk from a health perspective Check the NSW Government Website advice regarding the full list of symptoms associated with COVID-19 infection. Session numbers are limited to 20 - be early. See more

21.01.2022 Notice of the cancellation We have had advice from Associate Professor Ian Marshall, the Director of University Health Service stating that, As the COVID-19 epidemic continues to escalate in Australia it is likely that person to person transmission will become the main means of infection, rather than people bringing the infection from overseas. Close contact sports such as judo would, I think, be seen as high risk activity for this to occur. He continues with, I would advi...se cancelling your training sessions because of the higher risk of transmission of infection. In light of this, we are doing our utmost to provide our members with accurate information and for the sake of our club community and the wider community, we will take this action to minimise the risk of potentially spreading this virus. We will keep you notified of any further updates and in addition, when the club will reopen. See more
