23.01.2022 I hope everyone had a nice Easter and enjoyed their long weekend! We are enjoying the school holidays here at Summerhill Family Day Care. What a gorgeous day we had today! (These photos are of my own 2 beautiful children enjoying the sunshine today )

16.01.2022 Our dress ups and self-help craft areas are all organised and neat. That will last for about 30 seconds after the children arrive. Dress-up play is vital to a childs development. It fosters the imaginative processes, and allows for play without rules or script. Dress up allows for experimentation, role play and fantasy. Craft/Arts have many educational benefits in many different areas of development. Such as, fine motor and dexterity skills (physical), self-expression and socialising (social/emotional), and they enhance creativity ability and sharpen decision making skills(cognitive).

08.01.2022 We have had some vacancies open up this year, with so many off to kindergarten. For both under and over school age children, I have available every second Monday, also every second weekend. And Wednesday, Thursday and Friday every week.

04.01.2022 Thank you to whoever nominated me for this. It was a really nice surprise. My job is very undervalued and largely unappreciated most of the time. Not so much by my current daycare parents, but by outside people. So its nice to get reminders like this that I am doing this job, not just because I love children but also because parents need and appreciate having decent educators they can depend on and trust to leave their most precious possessions with. Congratulations to all other educators nominated. Continue doing what youre doing!
