16.01.2022 I don’t know about you, but lockdown taught me A LOT about myself and the life I was living. I realised quite quickly that I was EXHAUSTED. The always saying yes approach to my business had ran its course and I came to the understanding that I couldn’t keep going on like this. I’d missed out on so much of what I’d worked for and loved. My home was in disarray, I hardly spent time with my dogs and my partner and I pasted each-other like ships on alternate shifts. I was workin...g towards a life I dreamt of but it became apparent that we don’t all reach such a point in life. The idea of retirement doesn’t really exist the way it once did. I was working towards something that was pretty unobtainable and not able to spend time of the things I’d worked so hard for in the current day. Lockdown had me actually sleeping, creating a self care routine, eating healthy and picking up personal hobbies I’d ran out of time for like Pilates, watching Netflix and taking my dogs to the park. All things I’d worked so hard to have but couldn’t find the time for. It was also enough time for me to form good habits. First time back to work I told myself I would try an have that work life balance continue.... but I failed massively. In a way, lockdown two was a second chance at trying this. The hardest thing is to learn how to say ‘no’. This is especially difficult when we have worked so hard for the business we have grown. But, I was determined to make this work. I want to be happy with my business AND my life. So every day I’ve been worked on not working ridiculous hours, not taking bookings on my days off, having breaks for proper food and hydration and finding time for rest, play and Pilates! What did lockdown teach you? Have you made some lifestyle changes? If so, what are they?

12.01.2022 The eyeliner effect. Imaged is a close up of a full Classic set in 0.12 @lashartisan Artists often ask me how I get the density so thick at the base of the lash line in my sets. The trick is being consistent with your base application distance! All extensions should be applied 1-1.5mm from the skin. When each base is correctly applied you will achieve a dense liner finish.... Another tip is if your client has a sparse lash line, the effect will only be found in pictures taken from specific angles! Love seeing the industry develop products that are starting to look better than the real deal Do you use premades on clients? I’m a handmade fan girl through and through but LOVE seeing top of the line products like these being developed.
