25.01.2022 ...Seeking your interest... Who would be interested in attending a Second Hand Sale in conjunction with an SDC event in the near future? You could set up a stall in the back on your float or under a gazebo and sell any of your unwanted horsey gear! Or come along and purchase a new rug, saddle cloth or shirt! ... 24.01.2022 SDC’s AGM is being held on Sunday 6 December, starting at 2pm at the new Lions Kiosk, Bangalow Showgrounds Attending the AGM is a great way to have your say and/or get more involved with the club In saying so, it seems an appropriate time to explain a little more about what is involved with our club’s committee. We understand that everyone is busy, has a family, a social life, a full-time job and of course a horse or two!... With this in mind, and after considerable discussion by the committee, we have created additional committee positions, with the hope that we can find a larger group of like-minded horsey people who can each share smaller proportions of the duties as a larger team. Our committee meet once a month for dinner (and a drink or two ). Of course, we talk all things horses and then go through the monthly agenda, which is generally about organising future dressage events. We also review previous events and discuss how we can improve things for the future. The committee support one another and share the workload where needed #team I am asking for your help to ensure our club can continue operating to provide the best possible range and number of events for all members in 2021. Unfortunately, if our club cannot fulfill the committee positions, we potentially may not be able to hold events next year. Of course, do not want to see this happen, however, it is impossible for only a handful of individuals (the present size of the committee) to run a club that currently has over 100 members. All current committee positions will be declared vacant at the AGM and open for nominations. All current committee members are happy to help mentor and teach any new individuals. If anyone would like to discuss anything further about any position they might be interested in or ask questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us. As always, we are very open to any feedback from members to help improve the club. Onwards and upwards!

21.01.2022 It has been announced that horses competing in FEI events will no longer be able to have their whiskers shaved from July, 2021. The FEI Online General Assembly,... which took place on 23 November, voted in a range of new rules and regulations - one of which was the banning of trimming a horse’s sensory hairs. The rule, which forms part of the FEI veterinary regulations, will apply to horses across all disciplines competing in FEI events....
