18.01.2022 As more coronavirus cases are now occurring in NSW through community transmission, NSW Health has raised its alert level to amber. As of Friday 24/7/20, health workers in NSW are required to wear a mask when they are within 1.5m of a patient. This is something we have been practising for some months already. However, since the alert level has increased, we are now asking that patients attending our clinic also wear a mask, where possible, in line with NSW Health recommendations. Of course, if you are unwell with cough, fever, runny nose or body aches, or have returned from Victoria or a NSW Covid hotspot in the last 14 days, please ring the clinic to reschedule your appointment. Many thanks for your understanding and cooperation during this unsettling time.

12.01.2022 This week is National Skin Cancer Action Week for 2019, running from 17th-23rd November. The campaign is run jointly by the Cancer Council and the Australasian College of Dermatologists. It aims to promote awareness of just how common skin cancer is in Australia, and has a strong focus on promoting sun protection measures in order prevent future skin cancers, especially in young adults. It is out hope that we can play our part in promoting this important message to reduce the rates of skin cancer in Australia, especially in our local area. Please see the Cancer Council's website for more info: https://www.cancer.org.au//national-skin-cancer-action-wee

10.01.2022 Summerland Skin Cancer Clinic would like to congratulate Dr Tristan Hicks for completing his Fellowship with the Skin Cancer College Australasia (SCCA) in October! This is in addition to his existing Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. Tristan achieved the highest score in the SCCA’s clinical examination for 2019. His achievement has been rewarded with an academic scholarship from the SCCA. Well done Dr Hicks!
