14.01.2022 Severe Weather Warning for heavy rain in the Northern Rivers A low pressure system has developed in the Coral Sea and has an associated rain band which is expected to affect the Northern Rivers area. Rain is expected to start increasing over southern parts of the Mid North Coast region this afternoon, then extend to the Northern Rivers district during the night. Steady rain is expected with some areas of heavy rain likely, particularly from thunderstorms in the rain band. Flash flooding may result from the heavy rainfall. Residents in the Northern Rivers area should monitor weather conditions and listen for updates. Causeways in this area may have water across them.
