12.01.2022 Last Saturday, January 2nd there was a Trophy Afternoon. There were 20 bowlers on the green. The winners of the day were John Graham and Brian Wilmot. They were drawn out of a hat. Full results of the Trophy Afternoon are as follows: ... John Cooke, Brian Brown and Paul Zamprogno 24 def Attilio Zamprogno, Mary Zanatta and Alex Mattiazzi 6; Dale Barker, Rod Newlands and Phil Davis 21 def Eddie Zanatta, Rocky Thompson and Cliff Jones 15; Bill Lee and Michael Sweeney drew 14-all against Keith Mungall and Tyler Sweeney; John Graham and Brian Wilmot 21 def Michael Surch and Jamie Zamprogno 12. On Monday, January 4th there was a BBQ and a visit from the Cleveland bowlers. Fourty-four bowlers from Cleveland joined Thirty-four bowlers from The Summit and District. It was the best turnout of bowlers that The Summit Bowls Club has had in recent years with both greens full. Games of Triples were played. The winners of the day were: John Cooke, Narelle Decew and Betty Clarke The Runner's-Up were: Tracy Foster, Shirley Kemp and Kay Smith. Congratulations to you all. The Summit Bowls Club would like to thank the Cleveland bowlers for their visit. It was an absolute pleasure having you all visit our club and we hope you all can visit us again one day. Also thanks to the ladies who provided us all with the lovely BBQ lunch and thanks to the bar staff too. It was a really fun day and everyone had a great time. Just a reminder that the Nomination Sheet for the Men's Club Fours are on the board at the club. Please write your names down on it ASAP if you wish to play in this. Brian Brown and Jamie Zamprogno 17 def Rocky Thompson and Brian Wilmot 7; Pam Moore and Frank Taylor 14 def John Graham and Rod Newlands 13; Shannedelle Wood and Quinton Stanley had a 12all draw against James Wood and Darren "Banger" Stanley.
