We're very happy to announce that Dr. Emily Nelson- Osteopath will be joining the team- offering appointments on Wednesdays and Fridays with both before and after-hours appointments available. Originally from the southwest, WA, Emily is excited to be working in Perth after graduating from RMIT University in 2019.... Emily was drawn to osteopathy at a young age as she saw how much it could benefit others with the treatment and management of their pain. 25.01.2022 Our wonderful remedial massage therapist Rochelle is fundraising this week for Neuroblastoma Australia to help raise funds to find a cure for this horrible childhood cancer. She is also running 5km! This week, Thursday Aug 20th, 100% of every massage fee will be donated to this cause. It’s been shocking, consuming, exhausting! Our big goals we set at the start of the year may look a little different now, and may not even be possible at this stage. Throughout lockdown, we strongly felt that you didn’t have to achieve above and beyond. But now, in the second half- it’s time to reframe. ... With an open mind, and a new normal here to stay, what new opportunities are at your finger tips? What have you been missing that you’d like to add back in to your life? 04.01.2022 Well what a great weekend for the last trip of the Wagin Osteopathic Service for 2020! Wagin is the sister clinic to Summit Osteopathy and has been operating since 2016. We have had a great year with lots of challenges and triumphs! The Service survived a three month hiatus (thanks COVID) and two osteopaths in a trip started coming down to increase the number of people we could see! Returning back down south after the break only strengthened our resolve to continue to provide... Osteopathic care for people in the wheatbelt that can’t readily access us! We want to thank the Shire of Wagin, the Wagin Medical Centre, the Wagin Motel and, some special people on the ground for helping facilitate every trip that make our trips so smooth and easy! We love providing care to the people of the wheatbelt and we think it’s a really valuable service. We are looking forward to coming down in 2021! Thanks for having us! The new official measurement is 86 cm higher than previously agreed upon.... 02.01.2022 Time to get serious! As we watch Melbourne going to stronger stages of lockdown, their access to face to face health care has been significantly restricted. Now is the time for you to get your annual health checks done right now! In the first wave of the pandemic, people have dropped off with their regular screenings with their GPs. In June, figures from major private pathology labs revealed that there was 56% less tissue testing in April versus February 2020. Cervical ca...ncer screening tests were down 71% and blood tests screening for prostate cancer were down by 58%. Data from the Australian Cancer Council showed a 37% drop in breast cancer reports during April and May. This is not a fear mongering campaign!
