25.01.2022 Getting your netballers season back on court and enjoying a safe season was always a key priority for SUNA. Our Play Well programme brought together a number of new and existing wellbeing measures to give you peace of mind. We are pleased to advise that For the Grand Final week only we are allowing two spectators per player. We are still working with a venue limit at SUNA under our COVID Safe Plan Step 3 - Alert Level 1 and we would appreciate your cooperation in suppor...ting this. Clubs have been sent spreadsheets (also available through MyNetball) confirming courts and times for the Grand Finals and procedures if any final goes into extra time following a draw. As advised previously we aren’t conducting presentations after the matches and we will arrange for medals to be given to the winning coach on the night. SUNA would also like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your patience, understanding and support in what is still a very challenging time for everyone. The vast majority of members have been fully supportive of the measures we took to ensure that we can stay on court and enjoy our wonderful game. It has been fantastic to watch the games this season and as we move into the last week of this extraordinary season, we hope that everyone has some great memories from the season. We want to send out a heartfelt thank you to all of our club volunteers which include but not limited to their committees, the enthusiastic team Coaches, the super team Managers and to all those other wonderful volunteers (you know who they are), that just give up some of their time to helping out within your club. I want to call out our Umpire Mentors, led by Geoff, the club umpire coordinators and their umpires who have done a marvellous job this season. I want to thank all the parents, carers and friends who braved the cold winter nights to bring your players to the games and cheer them on from the sidelines. Also, a huge thank you to our canteen staff led by Cheryl (best donuts in the South!) and of course Dawn and Sharon who had the mammoth task of ensuring we got the season up, running and continuing. Thank you all and we are looking forward to seeing you for our Summer Season!

23.01.2022 Wishing Ashleigh our Reps Coordinator a Happy Birthday! Hope you are having a wonderful day. Thanks for being a wonderful volunteer

16.01.2022 NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC is celebrated not only in Indigenous communities, but by Australians from all walks of life. The week is a great opportunity to participate in a range of activities and to support your local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community. NAIDOC originally stood for ‘National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Com...mittee’. This committee was once responsible for organising national activities during NAIDOC Week and its acronym has since become the name of the week itself. Always Was, Always Will Be is the theme in 2020 which recognises that First Nations people have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years. SUNA is proud to acknowledge and pay respect to the Traditional Owners of the land, the Kaurna people, where SUNA is based. We pay respect to their culture, history and Elders, past, present and future.

13.01.2022 We hope you’re all keeping well. As more outbreaks are now occurring in South Australia, it is timely that we reiterate the importance of not becoming complacent with our actions. As the government have said, the next couple of weeks will be crucial in ensuring we contain the virus, so while restrictions ease it is still essential that we continue to act on health advice to help keep South Australia safe and strong. By law, all sporting clubs and organisations are required to... abide by current Emergency Management Directions. Spot checks as we know are being carried out and fines of up to $5,000 can be issued. As you may have seen in recent communications, we are pleased to have received confirmation that community sport is set to return as planned on Tuesday 1 December provided, we meet all government guidelines. Please note from 12:01am on 1 December for the next 2 weeks: COVID-Safe Check-In is mandatory for all spectators We are currently putting in place directions for those guidelines which means for our competitions the following will be mandatory: Use of Hand Sanitiser is a compulsory condition of entry to the complex. Players, coaches and umpires will enter the complex using a dedicated gate. Spectators (STRICTLY two per player only) to enter the complex using a separate dedicated gate. QR code stations will be in place for spectators to use prior to entry. PLEASE NOTE only two parents/carers should attend SUNA/community sports activities where possible. Friday night in particular we have found that this is still not followed. Please also be aware of the need to adhere to our COVID-19 Safety Plan, especially in relation to physical distancing of spectators and movement through SUNA’s common spaces such as club room, canteen and toilets. Thank you all so much for your support and understanding over the past few months. Stay safe and well. 13.01.2022 Dear All, We are so looking forward to seeing you all back on court this week. A reminder that ALL spectators will be required to check-in to SUNA using the QR code that will be displayed.... We have a number of stations set up with QR codes in the spectator check in area and will be endeavouring to move spectators through as quickly as possible. We understand that this process is likely to impact on the time it takes for spectators to successfully gain entry to the SUNA complex, and ask for your/ their patience. We will also be ensuring that physical distancing principles are still being followed while spectators are queuing and will be asking for your full cooperation with this and our new entry procedures. Players, coaches, and umpires will NOT be required to check-in and will enter the SUNA complex via their dedicated gate. We have provided some instructions below to explain the check-in process: 1. Spectators should download and utilise the mysagov app wherever possible, simply because the process is then completed more quickly. 2. Spectators will need to click on the COVID-safe check-in icon on the home page when they arrive, and scan the code which will be displayed upon entry. 3. You will receive a text message when you check-in, that you may need to show to confirm that you have checked in. 4. Alternatively, you may scan the code using the camera on your phone, input a text code received on text message and then use your internet browser to complete your check-in. You will receive a text message when you check-in, that you may need to show to confirm that you have checked in. 5. Those who do not have access to a mobile phone may check-in using a paper recording log that will be provided.

02.01.2022 Dear All, Important update At 3:15pm today, the Premier announced that from midnight tonight, Monday, November 16, community sport fixtures and training will be cancelled for a two-week period, with the potential for extension... In addition, Netball SA’s recommendation is to act with precaution and cancel trainings due to take place tonight. Safety will always be our number 1 priority- with the suspension of matches and training we are optimistic this will be for only a short time. We remind our members the importance of not becoming complacent and to keep up the positive safe hygiene practices. We will adapt as needed - thank you for your understanding.

02.01.2022 SA’s emerging talent on show at 2020 Academy Games! One of Netball SA’s most significant events on the annual calendar is nearly here, with the Academy Games to be played this week. Priceline Stadium will again host the three-day event, which kicks off Tuesday, September 29 and ends on Thursday, October 1. Each year, the Games are held during the October school holidays as the culmination event to the Netball SA Academy Program. ... The Academy Program uses the national Develop a Diamond curriculum to provide a development pathway for identified coaches, umpires and players, aged between 14-16 years. Competing teams are from the nine academies who complete the Netball SA Academy Program in their respective regions from February to October. The competition draw is structured on the number of players involved across all academies. Players can use the opportunity to showcase their skills for a chance to be selected at the games for Phase 2 State 17U trials. Netball SA Product and Pathways Manager Roz Fraser said the Games were an important part of the player pathway with the next progression from Academy to 17U State Teams. Players will have access to a range of specialist coaches including the 2020 17U and 19U State Coaches during the skill session day which was a new initiative introduced last year, Ms Fraser said. They also have the opportunity to be selected to attend Phase Two of the State 17U Trials, which is the next step in the player pathway. SUNA is part of the Southern Academy and our reps programme is a vital part of the player development pathway to Academy and being identified as a potential State player. Good luck Southern!!
