24.01.2022 You've heard of no-frill products, well this is the no-fill pie. Obviously not quite enough chunky steak that day to do the whole tray. This is not likely to become a big hit, even with Breatharians. I'm pleased to say our QA system picked this one up at the bakehouse. Even real bakers are human. Pies with fillings highly recommended.



23.01.2022 They're back...due to public demand, we're bringing back our spelt sourdough and extra sour sourdough on Sundays. While stocks last (or phone the day before to place an order).

21.01.2022 OK.... so it is a little difficult to get to Paris for the weekend (about 22 hours travelling time in each direction). But who needs to? ....we've got our wonderful hand-made danishes right here, and our gourmet Fonzie Abbott coffee is as good as you will get anywhere in the world.

21.01.2022 If you like sourdough bread, then you'll love November. This month, you can choose any two sourdoughs for $12.... (eat one, freeze one). These are real sourdoughs... no preservatives, no added sugar. Or if sourdough is not your thing, any two traditional loaves for $5. While stocks last, of course.

Well the good news is that our world-famous olive sourdough will be making an appearance every Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Sunbaked, at least for the duration of the holidays. You know it's popular, so the 'while stocks last' tag definitely applies. Enjoy with cheeses, dips, avocado...let your imagination run wild...

We're back after a long hibernation...(I overslept)... and in the pipeline we have new bakery items, new gf items, but more of the same friendly service and great coffee. And what about the new chairs..! Lots of good feedback, with lots of customers especially enjoying the chairs with arms. If you haven't been in recently, come and give them a try...

16.01.2022 By popular demand, we're expanding our pie range at the Strand to include some chicken varieties - chicken and mushroom, chicken mornay and curried chicken.... All made fresh by our own bakers. And here's a lunchtime special for you ... a gourmet-style Chicken and Mushroom Pie with a side salad for $10. While stocks last.

14.01.2022 Delicious and authentic sourdough bread from Sunbaked at the Strand. Nothing artificial - only flour and grains, water, a little salt and our own culture. It's the same sourdough that we supply to all your favourite restaurants, cafes and clubs. And you can enjoy it at home too!

14.01.2022 So what is Extra Sour sourdough you ask? Sunbaked only offers 'proper' sourdoughs....ie made from just flour, water, a little salt, and our own unique culture. The loaves are then proved (rested) for at least 24 hours for the culture to do its work before baking. That's the period in which the 'sour' flavour develops. Extra Sour sourdoughs are rested for 48 hours before baking...hence the stronger flavour. And our secret ingredient? - our very skilled artisan bakers.

10.01.2022 Now here's a novel concept... At Sunbaked, our banana bread is made with real bananas! What an idea! And they're locally grown bananas, baked by our own local artisan bakers. And delicious. Until the end of the year, try a slice with a coffee for $6.

07.01.2022 Today we extended our best wishes to Manu, as he spent his last day with us in Coolangatta. Manu is off to live in Bangalow, (and the idea of a daily commute to Coolangatta was, not surprisingly, daunting). We'll miss you Manu, as will all of your regular customers at Sunbaked.

05.01.2022 Friends don't let friends eat rubbish bread. You know the type of bread I'm talking about. Cheap and nasty. Little nutrition, dubious ingredients with lots of numbers, so much preservative that naturally occuring 'good bacteria' can't survive... the bread version of the lunar landscape. All this, when for very little more, you can pick up the real thing, made fresh by us from scratch. Delicious. Pick one up for a friend. It's what good friends do....

04.01.2022 So what do we do when the weather's on the damp side of beautiful? We go indoors for some retail therapy....and for hot gourmet coffee, and handmade cakes and pastries (or a hearty pie). And it tastes better if it's fresh and made locally by artisan bakers using chosen ingredients.
