25.01.2022 We wanted to share this widely unknown AMAZING achievement from our u16 girls athlete Abbey. After achieving 7....that's right 7 centre records last season she bumped her tally of centre records up to match that of Australian National Women's Basketballer Sara Blicavs with a total of 14 current centre records for their time competing with Sunbury Little Athletics Centre. Congratulations Abbey on such a fantastic achievement. 21.01.2022 COACHING & OFFICIATING COURSE UPDATE: As some of you will be aware it was spoken about at our online AGM that the officiating course would be online this year. We apologise for this miscommunication as it is in fact NOT the case. LAVic have confirmed that they believe that both of these courses require an element of practical face to face hands on education that cannot just be delivered in an online theoretical model. Therefore, once restrictions have eased LAVic will announce updates to course dates and venues. Once dates are set we will still get in touch with those of you that expressed interest at the AGM and we will also seek for additional volunteers.

19.01.2022 ACCOUNT INFORMATION - Previous season member may have received an email this morning in regards to your families Primary Member. This email is in preparatio...n for our registration portal opening for Centres shortly and doesn't necessarily mean your Centre is currently able to take registrations. We are in continual communication with the State Government with regards to the protocols required by Centres and are working towards getting as many Centres 'live' as soon as possible. For now, take note of which member of your family account is the allocated 'primary member' and only log in to the member portal if you'd like to update any details that may have changed since last season. You will receive a specific renewal email as soon as your Centre does go live and can accept registrations. #LittleAthsVic See more

18.01.2022 We hope that all our members and families are keeping safe. We don't have any updates at the moment but hopefully after the updates on Sunday we might have a clearer picture - however we will be guided by Little Athletics Victoria as to when and how our season will start. Just a reminder to all our members that each season after the AGM our committee members change. 18.01.2022 An email has just been sent out to all parents of athletes in u13+ age groups regarding an invitation to online coaching/training programs written by professional coaches from Keilor St. Bernard's Athletic Club. This is a one time offer to join over this COVID period to get training programs with the hope that you will stay with the team once proper training/competition can continue. Please contact Keilor St. Bernard's Athletic Club direct for more information and to sign up to their mailing list.

17.01.2022 We have officially launched our online uniform/merchandise store! Due to no access to clubrooms and COVID restrictions we have made the decision to make our uniform store exclusively online this season. The great thing about this store is it will show you what our current stock availability is or if the item in particular sizes is out of stock. If there is something you are after and we do not have stock, please send your requests through to [email protected] ...for review. Please go to our website to visit our shop: https://sunburylac.org.au/shop/ We have a section for competition wear, non-compulsory merchandise and even a second hand store. All orders placed by 2pm on a Friday will be processed and individually packaged to be collected at our COVID sign in tent as you walk through from the main car park (on competition day). All new items will be able to be exchanged if the fit isn't right, however we have included size guides on the listings to try and make it easier. There will be no exchange/returns on second hand items. All second hand items have been inspected and are in good condition and all clothing has been washed. If you have any items in good condition that you would like to donate, the small fees on second hand items go towards fundraising for the club. We will have a collection at the COVID sign in tent. The second hand store was an initiative to try and further support any families that struggle to keep up with the additional costs of participating in sport and we hope that you find it worthwhile.

11.01.2022 As we move towards Covid normal, we all have a part to play in staying open. The following rules have been developed in consultation with Little Athletics Victoria and the Department of Health and Human Services to allow our Centre to open and stay open for the season. Please have a read and know that by registering at our Centre, you are agreeing to abide by the rules set in place by the above governing bodies. Our rules are as follows: *All athletes and their supervising p...arent will need to register by using the QR code provided on competition day and show this to the Covid officer on arrival. *Face masks must be carried at all times by all patrons 12 years of age and older, and worn if physical distancing of 1.5 metres cannot be maintained. Mask is to be on when in a queue eg. canteen. *Maintain 1.5m distance when possible. Remember - no hugs, hand shakes, sharing items outside of your family, etc. *Athletes will be required to sanitise their hands after using shared equipment. This includes field events and the start line for track. *Wash hands after using the toilet using the soap provided. *Use hand sanitiser after sneezing, eating and blowing your nose, making sure the tissue is disposed of properly. *If you have any cold or flu symptoms or been in direct contact with a known case of COVID-19 in the previous 14 days, we ask that you not attend our Centre until you are cleared of coronavirus via being tested. Any patron who tests positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) should remain in isolation at home and cannot attend Little Athletics activities until they have been notified by DHHS that they are no longer required to self-isolate, and have met its criteria for release. 02.01.2022 Here is our season calendar and pre-Christmas reduced program. Due to the current cleaning requirements and not having the extra man power on the committee, we have made the decision to hold off on running hurdles, high jump, walks and on track before Christmas. High jump and walks take a long time to run plus all equipment is going to need to be cleaned between age groups. Everyone will need to use hand sanitiser before every throw and jump which is going to take up some tim...e of our day. We will release the post-Christmas program in the new year before our first meet of 2021 on January 9th. Keep an eye on Facebook and Teamapp which is where we will be releasing this information. The aim for the first three weeks before Christmas is to get the kids moving again and having fun while keeping our running time as reduced as we can. As LAVic say, it's going to be a "get in, compete, and get out" type of season. Please remember to be flexible and understanding as we are a volunteer run Centre. As the year moves towards "normal", things will slowly move back towards what our Centre would normally look like in a normal summer season. 01.01.2022 Even though there will be some disruptions - we are very excited about the construction of our new pavilion! This has been a long time coming and the new facilities will serve our community for the years to come.
