23.01.2022 What a great rally!! Our members got to learn all about the racing industry from champion female jockey, and past member Casey Bruce. Blue group worked hard on final preparations for their C certificates, Red group practiced their drill riding with the aim of forming a musical ride team, White group and green group all hit some big riding milestones - first canters, lots of time off lead, and new ponies!! Add your rally pics here

22.01.2022 What an amazing night, thank you to everyone who came along and made it so much fun! Also, a very special thank you to the team of awesome ladies who worked so hard this week! Morag, Alison, Lynden thank you for trusting me and letting me boss you around so much. And of course a big thank you to everyone who provided sponsorship, donated prizes, hunted for samples, promoted the event, it's takes all these hands and minds to put something like this complicated beast together...! P.S I also suspect we raised a spectacular amount of money for the club. I'll await the treasurer's report.

22.01.2022 Due to directives from PCAV and the deputy chief medical officer, the Sunbury Pony Club ground is closed to all public and equestrian use until further notice. You may not access the pony club grounds for any purpose. The only exception to this is our agistors who may continue to care for their horses on the pony club grounds- this includes feeding, working and grooming the horses. These parties have been contacted today and understand the conditions of their occupancy. They may not accept visitors to the grounds, do not put them in a position to have to say no to your visit. Please do not visit and pat the ponies, observe social distancing and keep our agistors safe.

22.01.2022 Sunbury Pony Club will be open for evacuations within 30mins. Just heading there to unlock now. We have some yards and water. BYO yard if you can.

19.01.2022 http://Morgan Horse Show 2017// Thank you to the lovely families and kids who shopped, mowed, cooked, served or cleaned up for the Victorian Morgan Show. I REALLY appreciate you coming to support our club and the Morgan Show. The competitors and their supporters raved about how lovely our parents and kids were and how great the food and coffee were! Having you guys and girls running the canteen allowed me to focus on the day and subsequently my horses won Champion and Supreme Par...t and Pure Morgans :) Thank you members xx Jessica Mason See more

19.01.2022 Please join us for our last fundraising event of the year, an exclusive screening of 2016's most anticipated equestrian film, Harry and Snowman. I have been dying to see this film since I first saw the trailer, and after much frustration at not being able to locate a session, I decided to bring this beautiful horse movie to the horsey community of the Macedon Ranges. Everyone is welcome, please purchase tickets by clicking on the link to the Eventbrite page. There will be a huge raffle, of course, it's what we do best!

18.01.2022 Is anyone interested in a free nutrition consultant with John Khonke at Horseland Sunbury tomorrow? They have a few spots left. Ring the shop 9744 5722 to book.

17.01.2022 We have a very special opportunity for a lucky young rider. This is Phoenix, hes twenty two. Hes about 13.2hh and possibly as wide! Hes been a part of our club for as long as I can remember. The time has come for his current rider to move into a bigger mount (shes now much taller than she was when this pic was taken). Its now time for Phoenix to show another kid the ropes. Phoenix is not for sale. His family would love for him leased by a family who would keep bringing... him to pony club so they can see him all the time. Then theyd like him back for his retirement. Wed all love to see him stay in the club family. He does everything you would want to do at pony club- dressage, show jumping, cross country, games. He even bows on command and bobs for apples. He tolerates crazy fancy dress costumes. Phoenix can be a little cheeky on the ground, so he would suit a family with some experience handling horses. Hes not nasty but can be a little pushy if not handled firmly and confidently. He still has quite a bit of zip, despite his advanced years, so he would suit a confident beginner- perhaps a rider who has had regular lessons for a year or two, or who has outgrown a smaller pony. As with any new rider/horse combination, we would recommend regular lessons with a good instructor. You will need your own property with adequate horse fencing, or be willing to pay to agist him. The lease is free, but you must cover all costs involved in his upkeep- vet, farrier, dentist, feeding, worming, vaccinations... the list goes on and on. The club DC can provide a very honest reference outlining all aspects of his personality, as he has lived on her property for the last four years but she has known him for most of his life. Phoenix will only be offered to an approved home. Hes accustomed to a high standard of care, and would be deeply offended if he didnt continue to receive this! If youre interested please enquire by sending a message on this page. We will put you in touch with his family for a chat.

14.01.2022 One of the great things about equestrian sports is that male and female riders compete against each other- no special divisions, no differences in prize money, no preferential treatment, no handicapping.

13.01.2022 Anyone else still in bed having this thought?

12.01.2022 **Mega Lowden Shield post** I'm so proud of our Lowden Shield team, what a great bunch of kids. 08.01.2022 RIP Blaze Horses are like family at our club, and we lost a very special horse today. Blaze was kind, willing, gentle and always looked after his rider. Cody, we know you had very special bond with Blaze and we are all thinking of you tonight. ... Our thoughts are also with the Stannard family, who took such amazing care of Blaze in his final years. He was a much loved member of their family too, and we know they will miss him immensely.

07.01.2022 Despite portents of doom from the BOM the day has dawned still, clear and surprisingly dry! See you all at the rally.

07.01.2022 Big congratulations to Chloe who has had a big 2 days competing at Woodend Show and Melton Dressage day Great to see our younger members out having fun

06.01.2022 Congratulations to blue group members Olivia and Lara on passing their C certificate test yesterday! We are very proud of your hard work and the way you represent our club. You are excellent role models for our younger riders.

03.01.2022 Our riders had a great day out at Melton Show. Callahan stepped out into the open ring for the first time and did very well in the hunter classes with both a champion and reserve. Chloe competed in the pony club and novice rings, managing a massive haul of ribbons. ... Maddie stepped out for her first ever show and also did both pony club and novice rings. She did really well, and amongst her haul of ribbons was a first for her riding. Well done! I was very proud of you all today.

02.01.2022 A big congratulations to Stacey and Chloe on a good day out at Whittlesea Winter Woolies.

01.01.2022 Guess what everyone... Our new jumping arena is finally under construction. It will be 60m x 50m, fully fenced with an equipment container situated in close proximity. This will be the perfect place for us to safely train the jumping stars of the future!

01.01.2022 If you're wondering about the horse in the drain, here's the outcome. A big shout out to Annika and Melissa, both past members and instructors, who were the first experienced horse people on site. From all accounts you two did an amazing job at keeping that horse safe until the specialist help arrived.

01.01.2022 ***Today's Rally Cancelled*** We regret that we have had to cancel today's rally due to the severe weather overnight and the potential for high winds and more storms today. Unfortunately our beautiful big trees tend to drop very big branches and are situated directly above the horse yards and club rooms. We don't feel that we have a safe place for horses to shelter in the event of another storm today. There is also the imminent danger that branches may fall from these trees ...without warning, due to the stress of the high winds overnight. We hope that everyone understands that we have made this decision with the safety and wellbeing of the members and horses as our prime concern. We promise a makeup rally with something special, just as soon as we can get it organised.
