25.01.2022 Hi Folks, It is with regret that I must inform you that Lyle Woodward, a past Suncoast Social Dancers' dancer, passed away on Thursday, 30th January, 2020, aged 86. Should anyone who knew Lyle wish to attend the funeral, it will be held at Gregson & Weight, Wises Road, Maroochydore, on Monday, 3rd February, at 10:00am.

23.01.2022 Message of Thanks from Rita James... Firstly let me say thank you for the massive amount of support and love and generous assistance from unexpected quarters. Yesterday truly was a celebration of a good man's life. I am so thankful for the help behind the scenes of folk with skills far exceeding any that I have. I am impressed with modern communication, however as I am a dinosaur recently unearthed on Riversleigh Station, I will fall back on my usual snail mail & telephon...ic modes of communication for future updates. Nadene has done a wonderful job of keeping you all updated and I have asked her to please keep this going in the future whenever necessary. I am going to take a little time for the dust to settle and to spend some time with my beautiful family however I will return to dance again you can count on that. 14.01.2022 Hi Everyone, With all the community health concerns that are rampant at the moment, and given that we are in a highly susceptible age group, we have taken the responsible decision to suspend our dances for at least one month. This applies to both Suncoast Social Dancers and Dedicated Dance Workshop. We’ve thought long and hard about whether or not this action is necessary, but, in the end, health authorities are advising all Australians to practice social distancing and t...o use common sense. Common sense says that we are a vulnerable group and should take action to protect ourselves. The dances at Kawana and Currimundi have been initially suspended for one month. We will keep looking at what is going on and will keep you informed via emails, facebook, and the DDW website and will definitely get back up and running as soon as it is safe to do so. You have our best wishes and we hope to see you all on the dance floor in the not too distant future.

12.01.2022 We are taking a break over the Festive Season. The next dance at Kawana will be on Monday, 13th January, 2020. We wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy & Safe New Year. See you in 2020.

10.01.2022 Hi all, For those of you who know Ros Keating, Ros has been forced, due to health issues, to give up teaching and running dances on the Sunshine Coast. In recognition of all that Ros has given to help a great many people with their ventures into dancing, we are holding a "tribute" dance for Ros on Sunday, 14th July, at the Woombye School of Arts. This will be our normal Sunday afternoon tea dance but with Ros in attendance, a cake, with expressions of appreciation for all that Ros has given to dance on the Sunshine Coast. The dance will run from 1:00pm to 3:30pm. Come along and take the opportunity to catch up with Ros.

10.01.2022 Saturday 12th August 2017. Michael Raymond James 9/2/39 to 12/08/2017 I regretfully have to inform you all that Dad passed away peacefully at about 9.30pm tonight at Nambour Hospital. Mum and my daughter Taleah were there by his side and were both supported by Paul and Shirley, and Ted and Jenny. Can I please just say a huge thank you to everyone who has helped support them through this time, We are extremely thankful for all your wonderful messages of love and support. I will post up information on this page regarding his funeral once arrangements have been made.

Suncoast Social Dancers Association inc. they continue to raise much needed funds for us,so far they have collected $3.380,which is amazin...g,a lot of that in 5 cent pieces! They hold the dances every Sunday at Nambour bowls club 1-4pm & Kawana community centre(next to library),every Monday 6.30-9pm. Tel 5476 4924 for more information. See more

03.01.2022 Mike left us in August, 2018, leaving a void that will never be filled. In June, while battling illness, Mike and Rita presented a cheque for $10,000 to Alex Moore, Director of Cittamani Hospice Service Ltd, on behalf of the Suncoast Social Dancers. These funds will be used to help with the ongoing costs of running their hospice service. Suncoast Social Dancers have been faithfull supporters to Cittamani for the past 15 years and we hope to continue this relationship long into the future.
