07.01.2022 Yay!! Sundowner Camels Tours is on Facebook!! Well, its early days for us here at Sundowner. Steve, the power house behind it all, only just arrived back approx 7 weeks ago, after an epic journey trucking himself and his loyal team of camels, 5000 odd km across this massive country, from Hervey Bay Qld, to stage their return in Broome...his previous stomping ground. Both Steve and the camels (Golieth, Gobbi, Kabul, Elvis, Jimmy and Ollie) hit the ground running as soon as ...they disembarked from the truck, that had housed and transported them during the 6 weeks it took to journey across the continent. Most of the "kids" (my affectionate terms for the camels) have already worked Cable Beach prior to Steve doing a seven year stint with them on the east coast. So they eased back into the routine like the pros they are! The train has now been joined by the beautiful, humongous black boy, Jack (he weighs in at 1050kg!!). Even though he is newly trained, Jack is an absolute joy and already winning the hearts of customers Waiting in the wings back on the block, are five more "green" (in -training) camels who are currently "learning the ropes and all things good-behaviour" with our veteran trainer, Steve. Before too long they will join the others on the beach, and within the very near future we will have even more joining the team, taking the Sundowner Camel Tours train to 18!!! Exciting times!!
