19.01.2022 Please note the following government directive to all caravan parks: 25 March 2020 Caravan Parks must close to tourists from midnight tonight... The Victorian government has today announced that caravan and camping parks are to close at midnight tonight, 25 March, except where people live there permanently or as an interim abode where the primary residence is not available. This new measure was announced to contain the spread of COVID-19. The announcement means that parks must close to all tourists but may remain open to serve residents and site tenants as well as grey nomads who either do not have a permanent place of residence or are travelling and unable to get home. Parks may also open to workers whose primary residence is not available due to the distance between home and the work site. Under this state government directive, annuals must not be admitted to your park. As per previous advice, the annuals agreement is deliberately drafted to focus on the site occupancy by the dwelling for a 12 month period for holiday purposes only. The principal pays a fee to the caravan park owner to encumber the site for exclusive storage of the dwelling for the year. Irrespective of todays government announcement, travelling to caravan parks for holiday purposes does not comply with directives to cease non-essential travel. Your park is, therefore, legally entitled to refuse access for non-essential use given the risk to peoples health and government directives.

11.01.2022 So, where does SUNDOWNER come from... A swagman (also called a SUNDOWNER) was a transient labourer who travelled by foot from farm to farm carrying his belongings in a swag (bedroll). The term originated in Australia in the 19th-century and was later used in New Zealand. Swagmen were particularly common in Australia during times of economic uncertainty, such as the 1890s and the Great Depression of the 1930s. Many unemployed men travelled the rural areas of Australia on foot..., their few meagre possessions rolled up and carried in their swag. Typically, they would seek work in farms and towns they travelled through, and in many cases the farmers, if no permanent work was available, would provide food and shelter in return for some menial task. The figure of the "jolly swagman", represented most famously in Banjo Patersons bush poem "Waltzing Matilda", became a folk hero in 19th-century Australia, See more
