23.01.2022 MALLEE TRACK CHRISTMAS WISHING TREE A group of local agencies with partnership, Mallee Track Health, Ouyen Police and Community Services Neighbourhood House. ar...e starting a Xmas Wishing Tree. The Tree is located in the front of the Ouyen Police Station where people from all across the region (Mallee including Underbool/Murrayville) and anywhere else can drop a present off under the tree with a card to let us know who it was or it can be anonymous. The presents placed under the tree will be distributed throughout the community to family’s that are struggling at this time of the year. They will be distributed by Vic Police and the staff at Neighbourhood House. Anyone wishing to drop off a present can between the hours of 8am and 8pm in Ouyen or alternatively if residence live in Underbool or Murrayville they can drop the presents off to their local police station or their local Mallee Track Health and Community Services centre in those towns as well. All presents received will be greatly appreciated and will go to a good home.

08.01.2022 Christmas is just around the corner and as most of you may know on Christmas Day, Sunassist usually hold a Christmas Lunch for people that don’t have anyone els...e to spend the day with. Unfortunately, we are unable to hold our Christmas lunch this year due to COVID-19. We have instead decided that we will be spreading the Christmas spirit to those who need it by delivering lunch and a present to them on Christmas Day. We are looking for anybody willing to assist with donations of $10 for a delicious three course Christmas meal, or donations of presents to be given out by our volunteers on the day. 05.01.2022 For anyone not tuned into ABC Radio Mildura-Swan Hill this morning, breakfast radio host Debra Pearce spoke to our EO Nardia Sheriff about the welcome packs we ...put together with Mildura Regional Development for the NSW Police Force and ADF (Defence Australia) that are assisting with the border controls at the moment. With every NML Program that we deliver, we really like to bring home the message to participants to never underestimate the power of a conversation. The packs that were distributed started out from a conversation between two NML Alumni, one of which happens to be our Executive Officer. After a few more conversations, and some great collaboration between local organisations and businesses, we were all able to pull together a small gesture that clearly meant a great deal to those receiving it. What is happening at the moment is different, we’ve never experienced anything like it, and at times it’s bloody tough.
