24.01.2022 27/8/2019-Future Champs Yoganastics Program is a community based organisation that we have developed a great relationship with over the past few months. Yoganastics is an extra curriculum program built on yoga and gymnastic movements. We offer this program here at Sunkids Bli Bli, FREE to all the children. The children really enjoy Miss Rachel's program she delivers as it provides opportunity to learn new stretches and build on the children's flexibility, muscle strength and ...coordination. EYLF- Learning outcome 3, The children are recognizing their individual achievements as they engage in increasingly complex sensory-motor skills and movement patterns. NQS- 6.2.3 Community engagement, The service builds relationships with and engages with it's community.

23.01.2022 Sunkids Bli Bli invite the Sunshine Coast community to join us in this initiative project "TAKE 3 FOR THE SEA' created by Sunkids Robina. The idea was created during World environment Day, to protect our oceans and the creatures that live in it by collecting a minimum of 3 pieces of rubbish from our oceans and beaches and disposing of this rubbish appropriately. You can upload your photos to facebook tagging us in or simply send your pictures to [email protected] and we will add your pictures to our facebook page. Steve and Phean from Portrait Patch visit us at Sunkids each year to capture the children's beautiful images for our families keepsakes. 18.01.2022 12/7/19- NAIDOC WEEK NAIDOC stands for National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee. Its origins can be traced to the emergence of Aboriginal groups in the 1920s which sought to increase awareness in the wider community of the status and treatment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians. During this week the Sunkids children, educators and families invited 'Show time Stars' to present their 'Rainbow Serpent' Show. This is an Aboriginal story tradit...ionally told by the Aboriginal people. Today we continued to respectfully share the culture and the traditional ways of the Aboriginal people through dance and story telling. EYLF- Learning Outcome 2- Children are connected with and contribute to their world as they listen to other's ideas and respect different ways of being and doing. The children discover and explore some connections amongst people and develop the ability to recognize unfairness and bias and the capacity to act with compassion and kindness.This experience assisted the children to broaden their understanding of the world and to participate in reciprocal relationships NQS-6.2.2 Effective partnerships support children's access, inclusion and participation in the program.

16.01.2022 Reconciliation Week 2019 The educators at Sunkids, Bli Bli, create beautiful inviting spaces for the children to explore and engage in their learning. Learning about Indigenous culture through these opportunities builds an understanding of the culture and develops a mutual respect for cultural diversity in general.

16.01.2022 6/9/19- Father's Day Celebration For our Father's Day Celebration this year the children enjoyed spending time with their dad, grandad, pop, or other special person in their life. During this time the children engaged in a great variety of experiences that included lego challenges, construction with nails and hammers, creative tie making, and expressive spray painting followed by a BBQ sausage and a cold drink. A huge thank you to all the families that joined us here at Sunkids,Bli Bli. Your presence in the lives of our little people mean so much to them.

15.01.2022 National Simultaneous story book day- 'Alpacas with Maracas' read by Centre Manager- Kathleen Halliday The children enjoyed coming together as a whole group and listening to this fun adventurous story about 2 good friends that have so much fun together making a racket with Maracas. Miss Kath showed the children what a Maraca does and the children enjoyed creating their own Maracas and Alpaca face masks.

14.01.2022 OCEAN LIFE VISITS SUNKIDS @ BLI BLI (7/6/19) What a fantastic opportunity for the children to participate in this amazing hands on learning experience. Through this presentation the children learnt the importance of taking care of our beaches and the ocean. The children learnt how to do this, and by doing this they are protecting our ocean creatures, and in particular the precious turtles that live in our oceans. Forward planning- The children will engage in a great variety... of learning experiences within their daily program and we are collaborating with our other Sunkids services by participating in the initiative "Take 3 for the Sea" The children and their families will collect a minimum of 3 pieces of rubbish from our local ocean waters and beaches and dispose of these appropriately. 13.01.2022 15.08.2019 BUG SHOW- Presented by BugKidz Extending further on embedding sustainability practises in our programs, the educators had reflected on their practises to determine what more we could do to build on their own and the children's knowledge around caring for our environment. We then invited Lea from Bugkidz, to our service, who presented a wonderful interactive and engaging presentation on the bugs that live in our world, and the important job they have on our environm...ent. Following the presentation Lea assisted us in setting up our very own worm farm so we can utilise the natural fertilizer in our gardens to nourish our herbs and upcoming vegetables. EYLF- Learning Outcome 2, Educators model respect, care and appreciation for the natural environment and find ways of enabling the children to care for and learn from the land. NQS- 1.2.1 INTENTIONAL TEACHING- Educators are deliberate, purposeful, and thoughtful in their decisions and actions. 3.2.3 ENVIRONMENTALLY RESPONSIBLE-The service cares for the environment and supports children to become environmentally responsible.

12.01.2022 22/08/2019 Book Week- READING IS MY SECRET POWER Well, we all love book week and what a wonderful opportunity to get creative, build on confident identities and extend on our language and literacy interests and abilities. Today the children and educators at Sunkids Bli Bli dressed up to celebrate the annual Book Week event. Following the theme's wording "Secret Power", we thought it would be loads of fun dressing up as a book character with a super power. We all had so much ...fun using our imaginations and role playing a great variety of book characters. During the many stories read today the children engaged in elaborate conversations and demonstrated their own expressive story telling skills. A HUGE thank you to the families for your contribution and time taken to organise costumes for today's event . Your role in these learning opportunities are extremely important and assist your child to feel recognised and included in our Sunkids Family. EYLF- Learning Outcome 1, The children feel safe, secure and supported as they explore aspects of their identity through role play and explore different identities and points of view in dramatic play. NQS- 6.2.2, Effective partnerships with our families supports the children's access, inclusion, and participation in the program.

09.01.2022 Nature is the best playground The children enjoy exploring the outdoors. Today they participated in the planting of some strawberries, zucchini, tomatoes, capsicum and a variety of herbs. Over the coming weeks the children will learn about how to care for our plants and will experience the beauty of nature as they observe the growth and development of these plants. The end results being the ability to consume the produce, will be priceless.

08.01.2022 The Kindergarten children enjoy learning about the Anatomy. Through visual images, music, dance, drawing and play the child have learnt names of body parts, their positions and the purpose of these parts on our bodies.

07.01.2022 Munchkin League Program- 26/8/19 The children are given the opportunity to join in with the Munchkin League program as an extra curriculum activity we offer for FREE here at Sunkids Bli Bli. The children engage in small groups, playing games that build on their ball skills, balance and coordination. EYLF- Learning Outcome 3 -The children are showing enthusiasm for participating in cooperative and physical play.... NQS- 2.1.3, Physical activity is promoted and appropriate for each child 6.2.3, The service builds relationships and engages with it's community.

06.01.2022 Meal time interactions build opportunity to develop Self-Help independent skills - 07/08/2019 Meal times at Sunkids are inviting, engaging and interesting. Educators role model appropriate practices and engage in meaningful discussions at the meal tables. During these interactions the educator's discuss what meal is offered and the nutritional benefits the meal has. The children serve themselves, making their own food choices. The conversations had between the children and th...e educators are both interactive and engaging, with many learning opportunities delivered. Extending on these interactions we have recently introduced a self-help cleaning station for the children to have the opportunity to build on their independent self help skills as they are given the opportunity to wash up their own dishes after each meal. EYLF- Learning Outcome 3- The children are showing an increasing awareness of healthy lifestyles and good nutrition and are showing an increasing independence in personal hygiene, care and safety for themselves and others. 04.01.2022 28/8/19 Cultural Diversity- Italy Today in the Nursery and Toddler rooms the children have been learning about the country, Italy. Today the children explored coloured pasta made of the Italian flag colours. What a fantastic sensory experience for the children to get amongst. EYLF- Learning Outcome 2- The children are broadening their understanding of the world in which they live as they explore the diversity of culture.... NQS- 1.1.2. each child's current knowledge, strengths, ideas, culture, abilities and interests are the foundation of the program.

04.01.2022 14/08/2019 Sustainability practises- Today the children participated in the planting of our herb garden. After many conversations and planning on what herbs we could utilise in our meal preparation, the children had decided on planting some oregano, basil, chives, and Coriander as these are the herbs Miss Alysha uses in the kitchen for our lunches. EYLF- Learning Outcome 2- Educators are embedding sustainability in daily routines and practises as the children explore the rela...tionship with living things and are provided the opportunity to observe, notice and respond to the changes as they care for and watch the herbs grow.Though this experience the children develop an awareness of the impact of human activity on our environment and the interdependence of living things. 04.01.2022 Today we had Old MacDonald's Farm visit here at Sunkids Bli Bli. What a fantastic opportunity for the children to be hands on and engage with baby animals. The children learnt how important it is to be gentle with animals, how to care for them, where they live and their habitats, the different features of the animals and the names of the baby animals and how these are different to the adult version. (Cow/calf, Goat/kid, Chicken/chick, Pig/piglet) We all look forward to our next Old Mac Donald's Farm visit'.
