21.01.2022 As part of Book Week Celebrations, our Sunkids on Scottsdale centre introduced their first 'Mystery Reader' experience, where family members were invited into the classroom in disguise to read a story for the children, the children would then guess who the mystery reader is... Earlier this week, one of our parents, Melissa, came in dressed as a witch and the disguise was so good her own son had no clue! What an awesome effort Melissa!

19.01.2022 Through our play-based curriculum, the children engage in risky play regularly. Risky Play is a little bit like a science experiment, where the children are testing out their environment and discovering what will happen without knowing the exact outcome. Doing difficult yoga poses, climbing on an uneven surface, sitting on a wall to read a book are all versions of risky play. ... 15.01.2022 Forget Fashions on the Field its Fashions in the Classroom at Sunkids Eight Mile Plains today. Our Kindergarten Teacher, Claire, had a discussion with the children about why some people enjoy today as they have the opportunity to wear fancy hats and pretty clothes. The children wanted to make their own hats with lots of sparkles, glitter and ribbons. ... So much creativity used for this activity and so much fun parading their beautiful creations!

15.01.2022 The Kindergarten children at Sunkids on Scottsdale have been focusing on numeracy and shape recognition this week as part of our Prep Readiness program. By offering the children access to resources such as dice games, calculators, expressive observational art, counting games, shape construction with ‘tap tap hammer and nails’, moulding and shaping playdough, they are enhancing their learning and development in a fun but effective environment.

12.01.2022 Sunkids on Scottsdale Kindergarten children received a special visit from Mrs Osbourne and Mrs Mitchell from Varsity College They spent some time with the children playing games, reading books and discussing the transition from Kindergarten to Prep in 2021. At Sunkids, we encourage Prep Teachers from local schools to meet with the Kindergarten children in our Centres.... By doing this we are supporting the children with the transition from Kindergarten to Prep, ensuring they have a familiar face on their first day. 11.01.2022 The Kindergarten children at Sunkids Oxley have been taking time out of their busy play schedules to connect with their local community. Today, the children were able to meet and interact with some of the elderly members of our local Vietnamese Community Centre through a zoom meeting that was set up by our amazing Educator Miss Jessie. The children loved having an opportunity to show off their best dance moves and share some of their favourite songs, and you could see the joy this brought the elderly members of the Vietnamese Community Centre through their huge grins. This interaction also provided an opportunity for the children to engage in conversations in both English and Vietnamese, exposing children to diverse forms of communication.
