23.01.2022 We have participated the first time this year with AMEB Online Orchestra. Sharing our love of music with piano and vocal students. Amelia, Lena and Christina all learnt different version of it. Very proud.

19.01.2022 This is the Royal welcome we did for Agnežka! Our flutist for the world premiere Karin Kapsi, our Cellist, Teressa Chao, our musicology master and I are all there at the airport to welcome her. And followed up with our dinner rehearsal! Elena and Gianni, our Agentina Tango masters are there. Josephina, our Latino violinist and Joy, our harpist joined in a bit later! 19.01.2022 To all parents and possible enquiring, I am sorry I haven’t got to the emails or invoice as the director of the studio. I need to inform you I have listed my property for sales as well as trying to rent out the rooms ( if I could rent it out I won’t sell it, but I want good Tenant’s to keep our students and my teacher staying in the house safe) The reason for that is because I have been involved into two accidents, one assault plus other personal issues I am not physically no...r mentally in a good way. I am trying to do one thing at a time getting by. I couldn’t walk for sometimes and still need to do visits to different medical practices. It has been a very difficult year for me please kindly give me a little bit more time to recover and getting myself back together. I like to keep Melissa and Teressa for our studio. And we are working on a way to keep going as well as make sure everything well sorted. I recently had some comment on the property, please understand I have been a single mother and running all these businesses and such over these few years without family wasn’t easy. Your support is always greatly appreciated. But I am not made of iron but flesh and needing time when it comes to recovery as well. Please kindly keep public comment gently cause I see this a strong reputation for our studio and I am doing everything I can, even if the house is sold. I would still fly back and move the piano to another house nearby for you. But at this point in time. Please let me, as a human recover a little more, and Happy New Year to you all. 12.01.2022 Karin is here! Our inspiring Cellist from Estonia just flew up from Sydney yesterday morning! We have been playing their heart out with The Pond for our world premier as well as drinking Moscatos ... Wait, you didn’t read the Moscatos part, no! They are very professional and been rehearsing since the morning she arrived Big thank you to Dorothy Richmond for lending us her Cello! 11.01.2022 Our studio is handing over the management to Teressa Chao # master of string and piano from Taipei Art University. Teressa arrived to Cairns last year around September and very soon become a key role for our annual festival Showcase in Paradise. Despite her language barrier she deliver strong history workshop, performed for the premier and actively assist with studnet concert and management. We will do what we could to keep the transition as smooth as possible and fre...e trial lesson is now open for booking. Our studio location in Brismead is also subject to change after settlement but we still at the stage of negotiating wether we could keep renting the house. That is under further notice. Thank you so much for all your patient and understanding. Melissa has sent out some notice email earlier this month but if you haven’t received it I am here to inform you the above information and it would also be sent as an offical email for us to step down. 06.01.2022 9 different artists from Cairns: Suna Flynn (Pipa [Chinese Lute], piano and dance), Joy (Harp), Cairns and Italy: Elena and Gianni Sabaini (Agentina Tango Dancer) , Whitsundays and British Wales: Idris Harris (Clarinet) , Czech Republic: Anežka (Flute) , Estonia: Karin Kapsi (Cello), Taiwan: Teressa Chao (piano and violin) and Agentina: Josefina Thyaler ( Violin) . There would be two course dinner along with music, dance and Babinda RSL Artists Group’s painting as backdrop. ... We would start the evening by the rearranged Chinese Palace Music Flower Blossom by the river bank in spring , then other contemporary, fusion and classical pieces such as famous Tango pieces Libertango, fusion pieces Turpan Tango and Dance Floor Barter as well as The Pond by Cheryle Edelman (premier in Australia as well) along with other instrumental and dance pieces in between the artists. Then finalize the evening with historical restored dance art: Playing Pipa Backward. Playing Pipa Backward is an act combining playing the Chinese Lute: Pipa and DuanHung Dance first time in history. Most dancers do not play and musicians do not dance. We are choosing Innisfail Shire Hall for our first premier and such art and our same repertoire already being signed up by La Salon Grand Theatre down in Katoomba, Blue Mountain, NSW for Chinese New Year 2020. Showcase in Paradise rotates in different townships around Far North Queensland with the purpose of raising awareness for cultural activities and art. Attract tourists, collaborate with locals as well as connect businesses, community groups, students to inspire and prosper our region. We give 10% of the profit to Golden Octopus Children Cancer Foundation and partner up with Innisfail Lit Seng Gong Chinese Temple this year for heritage tour. She majored in Musical Science at the Catholic University of Valparaiso, alongside studying violin at the conservatoire of the same facility. In regards to her musical projects she has participated in a number of bands, such as: Viridian, Sargam, and Relmu; All of them focusing on folk world music. Actually, she is working in a new project called Ocho cuerdas as a solist with her own compositions inspired and borrowed from Latin America folk music. Her work includes repertoires as a singer, violinist and others instruments with a loop system. She has played and be involved in various cross cultural such as Indian Hindu music and Gypsy music as well as classical. 04.01.2022 So this is our guest speaker for workshop and harpist for our premiere! Beloved Cairns Based Concert Harpist, Joy Zahner! As a classically trained musician and Conservatorium graduate, Joy began performing in the formal settings of orchestras and ensembles. She enjoys connecting with harp players from various genres from around the world and appreciates how much there is to learn from the students she teaches. ... Joy now feels more at ease improvising and plays in Festivals, aged care homes, for yoga and sound meditation, and incorporating poetry and dance. #joyzahner #harpist #showcaseinparadise

World Premier Dinner Theatre: https://www.trybooking.com/BFNMU Welsh born Clarinettist Idris Harries has a career combining a passion for music education, performance and community. After leading Woodwind departments at premier schools in the UK, and working in Oman, as Head of Woodwind for the Sultan’s Royal Guard Bands he emigrated, and currently teaches Instrumental Music in the Whitsundays region. The ability to share the stories behind the music enables Idris to bring music to life. Exploring new music and sounds are at the core of Idris’ performance work. In January this year Idris performed the World premiere in UK of the new Himalaya Concerto, specifically written for Idris by Stuart Brown, and gave an Australian first performance at Mueller College, Redcliffe in February. Other works written for Idris include ‘I laugh, I cry’. solo music theatre written by Nicholas Redfern. It explores two sides of the personality of Charlie Chaplin, in which the performer is also required to act, and another Clarinet Concerto, by distinguished Welsh Composer Mervyn Burtch. Idris was the First Principal Clarinet player for Music Theatre Wales, spent 25 years working as a theatre musician, and played Clarinet in the Orchestra of Le Ballet du Louvre, a company run by Rudolf Nureyev. He is also a saxophonist and flautist. He trained at the University of Huddersfield and undertook Post graduate performance studies at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. Later, he gained an MA in Psychology for Musicians from the University of Sheffield. If there is any interest of subleasing a room for professional and/or any sort of art such as photography, dance, sculpture, or even another musician. Please feel free to give Suna Flynn, our director a call on 0448859563 There is a full functioning studio at the back with kitchen and shower with back entrance available for $300 + GST. ...And we would be using the shop front ones and the lounge room. Could also be a live-in. And yes there is parking! the renovation just started so if you like to sublease we could add your part in for budget friendly price. Otherwise it will just be light renovation to living standards. You could work on the studio once you sign the lease. We have Realestate agent to show you around. Could also be furnished with basic. Front music studio also available for short term daily or hourly rate. Very affordable with lots of foot and busy traffic at the front and quiet at the back. 03.01.2022 Had an amazing weekend for our annual festival. Lots to reviews, improvements and collaboration to be made for the festival. And ready to jump straight in to the end of month Trading Mate Event hosted by Jodi Allen in her new venue, Christmas project and repertoire set up, our folk song choir project for this term and next year, promoting Teressa Chao our new musicology, composition, piano and string master and Sven Lee House with her social media department. A lot of tears, ...sleepless night over the last year for the festival and this year we have gone the extra mile for an opening dinner theatre. The feedback from the audience is just inspiring. And a few of them already looking to attend next year. For a small country town and the purpose of our project for it to be raising awareness and bring out talents near and far. We are greatly blessed with all the support we get. I often say there is no shortcut to success but only hard work. The one thing that keeps me going is seeing all these people coming along together and supporting us. No matter genders, nationality, social class just to: Unit, Inspire and Prosper.
