21.01.2022 Stacks of enthusiasm, loads of fun, heaps of food and lots of laughs. Morning tea on Queensland Day was celebrated in 2 short shifts but a good time was had by all. The Premiers Department promoted "Queensland Day in the Office" and has since uploaded images of celebrations across the State. 19.01.2022 We have been very luck to secure Jane Farrell to work with staff on our Four Blocks Literacy Program. Jane will spend two days at Sunnybank in October, observing in classrooms and providing professional development to teachers and teacher aides. Jane Farrell is the foremost expert in Australia on the Four Blocks Literacy Framework.
19.01.2022 On Wednesday 25 July, Sunnybank Special School hosted our much anticipated Multicultural Festival! Students proudly gathered with their classroom friends and gave a memorable concert in honour of different countries. We appreciate the efforts of all who made the day such a success and we thank our families for giving us your your beautiful children and celebrating our spectacular differences.

17.01.2022 And Goanna camp is done and dusted. What an absolutely fantastic week we had! A huge thank you to the Variety club for this amazing opportunity. And a huge congratulations to Jeffrey and Kody. I am so so proud of what you achieved on this camp! As well as the physical and mental challenges you faced, you were also part of the winning team for the most organized, cleanest, friendliest, most encouraging and the campers who tried their hardest! Well done!
17.01.2022 We have had a very busy and successful term. We celebrated the many different cultures of our students this week with our Multicultural Day and had many special guest share the day with us. Courtney and two lucky students are very excited to be heading off on camp at Goanna Park in Darwin as guests of the Variety Club of Queensland. Hopefully, we will be able to keep up with their news here on Facebook (fingers crossed for internet access for Courtney). We wish all of our students and their families a very safe and restful holiday. School resumes on 14th July, 2014.

12.01.2022 Bus & Tram Art Competition - 19 PRIZES! Well done students! We must thank Jessica our Visual Arts Teacher and every teacher aide in the school who supported the students to complete their works of art. 07.01.2022 We are alive!! We have absolutely no reception at camp so am updating on our way back into Darwin for the fish feeding and wave pool. We are having lots of fun and meeting heaps of new people. The first 2 days were pretty quiet ones but the action picks up today. I am trying to take lots of pics but it is proving difficult. My hands are always full! Here are a couple of pics from the last couple of days. Will keep you updated when I have reception again!

This month, the Department has released a new app called SPEAK. SPEAK (Speaking Promotes Education And Knowledge) provides lots of fun, free activities, ideas and information for parents, carers and educators to support and nurture language development in children from 0-6 years of age. There ar...e multiple activities within each age group to help boost your child's speaking and listening ability. The information and activities were developed by the Department with the help of speech pathologists, educators and health professionals. SPEAK is for everyone who wants the best start in life for their child and provides a fun, convenient way to make chatter matter. 02.01.2022 We have reception again yay! Still having a great time but we are all starting to get very tired. The last couple of days have included fish feeding, wave pool, aqua duck tour, rock climbing, abseiling, flying fox and a crazy hats and hair disco!
