25.01.2022 The Queensland Government provided $150,000 to Sunnybank Rugby Union Club for the "Sunnybank Senior Rugby Club Lighting Project" to enable Queenslanders to participate in sport and recreation activities. Since our last update, the lighting project is now complete. 25.01.2022 Sunnybank Rugby is pleased to announce the appointment of Brian Allen as the Grades Head Coach and Coordinator for 2021. Originally growing up playing basketball in Australia at a high level, Brian fell into Rugby having played for the Australian National University in Canberra. From there, he fell in love with the sport and developed his coaching knowledge as a head coach, male & female program coordinator in Senior and Junior age groups and school programs. Brian has played... and coached across the globe, including in Ireland and Dubai, and has now found his new home here at the Bank. We are fortunate to have someone with his vast experience on board and he will no doubt fit right in at the Club. From Sunnybank Rugby, welcome Brian!

The former Dragon has a wealth of experience as an International player and coach in Rugby Union, including playing & representing the Queensland Reds and Samoa in XVs. Brando was the backs coach for the Hong Kong U19s Women’s team in 2016/17 and has also had involvement in Sunnybank's own Junior Girls Rugby program. The former Dragon has run a successful Colts program over the last few years and is looking to continue building our young men on and off the field in 2021. Eddie describes his coaching philosophy as two-fold, giving young men confidence and the tools to become better players on the field, but also the confidence off the field to cope with what life throws a...t them. This also includes setting values within the group and upholding and exemplifying those values through actions and communications.
