25.01.2022 We are up and running at Kawana Market! Come and say HI
23.01.2022 Our first Sunny Coast ACF meeting in a while! Zoom style We’ve all been knocked around a little with COVID but nice to know that many of us still remain passionate about climate change and continue working towards community goals. If we can listen to the science on COVID, then we can listen to the science on Climate Change. ... Hope to see some more faces on Thursday 18th June 7pm on Zoom. Get in touch for more info.
21.01.2022 And who said we don’t have fun at our monthly meetings?! Check out the pics! Tonight’s meeting was very productive for all four teams. Welcome to the new people. It is lovely to have you on board and I hope you found the team that suits your skill set best. ... If anyone else is despairing about the environment and would like to take action, feel free to contact us and see how your skills can be put to use within a professional and organised network of like minded people. You can come to our next monthly meeting on March 18th or even better pop into our stall this Sunday at Kawana Market from 6am onwards.
21.01.2022 Thank you for all of those who volunteered at today’s stall. It was great turnout and always nice to have families join us too Malcolm’s model of a Solar Thermal planet drew a lot of interest and was a great conversation starter with young and old alike. For those who signed up to our email list or join the ACF Community group - you’ll be hearing from us soon. ... Our next monthly meeting is Wednesday 18th March 6pm (venue tbc but most likely Caloundra Community Centre) for those wanting to be inspired into action.
20.01.2022 Another very productive and fun meeting last night. We’re really excited to have Matt Vaughan now coordinating us from ACF Brisbane. We seemed to have reached a new level of organization and enthusiasm - which is so important given the run up to the Queensland State elections this October. All of us are worried climate issues will be relegated to a lower priority in the haste to recover from COVID, which is why we all do what we do. ... Getting MPs to commit to the environmental measures is our main focus for the upcoming months. After all, let’s not forget the horrendous bushfire season we had, prior to this virus dominating the news. We need to hold our leaders accountable to the science that long term economic growth is only possible with the environment in mind. To enable better communication, we are transitioning to a Facebook group so PLEASE join the following group as this page will no longer contain our latest news: https://www.facebook.com/groups/592698467757450/ Thank you so much. We look forward to answering questions on how you too can help protect this beautiful Sunny Coast of ours!
