25.01.2022 Here's a not so small project I've been waiting til the Xmas break to tackle, upgrading our trailer, adding a canopy with gull wing doors. This should make loading and unloading easier, so we can just chuck everything in and shut the door. I'll add cladding once everything opens in January. 23.01.2022 Here's a small servo driven conveyor we've been working on. The design is quite simple, but it took a lot of effort to simplify to this version. Our original concept used a pneumatic cylinder and ratcheting clutch. It's been in service a little over a year, but we noticed some reliability issues if there was defective product fed into the system. Our hope with the servo control is to eliminate breakdowns caused by faulty product and improve the synchronization with other functions on the machine. Still to assemble is the cleated belt. 04.01.2022 A new company born not just during COVID-19 but because of it. In April 2020 Sunshine Coast Maker Space owner Dominic Vrolijks answered the call for locally ma...de face shields for the Sunshine Coast University Hospital. He assemble a crack team of local "makers", commandeered almost all the 3D printers in the area and as team began production in a matter of days. Fast forward a few months and with some business partners on board, a more refined design and an injection moulding machine ShieldLabs was born. The call for local manufacturing is now loud and strong. We jumped at the chance to design the new brand and packaging
