25.01.2022 2020 Qld Club Challenge will be held at Crusher Park, 22 Crusher Park Drive, Nambour this Saturday 11 January. Noosa Barbell and the Tin Shed Weightlifting Club from Brisbane will be joining the Sunshine Coast Weightlifting Club for a huge day of Olympic Weightlifting. 3 Sessions. The women kick it off at 9.00am. All welcome to watch. No cost.

25.01.2022 Mitch Daniels capped off an outstanding weekend at the State Junior and Under 23 Championships for the Sunshine Coast Weightlifting Club by securing a Silver medal in a very competitive session. Well done Mitch. Well done everyone.

24.01.2022 Congratulations to Levi Deans. Equal PB in both snatch and clean & jerk to secure a silver medal at the All Schools Championships, held in Tellabudgera, in both under 15 and open. The trophy was also awarded to Levi for the best male under 13 lifter across all body weight categories.

24.01.2022 Chelsea Nicoll is obviously happy about winning silver and qualifying for Nationals with a PB total at the State Under 23 Championships.

24.01.2022 Angela Barnas was happy with her 142 total to take the bronze in the QWA Masters league final today at Milton Weightlifting Club.

19.01.2022 Yes, that is Matthew Barrett standing on the top step after receiving his Gold Medal at the All Schools Championships, at Tellebudgera today. It was a very close and hard fought battle with a very determined opponent. Congratulations.

18.01.2022 How good is the club looking after Saturday’s working bee SCWC is run by members for members and we only get in what we put in to it. Big thanks to Jake, Max, Christine, Barry, Rod, Levi, Jarrod & Wil for their efforts this last weekend. Thanks to those that have done in past working bees also. 15.01.2022 Well that’s a wrap for DAY ONE of the Queensland Masters Championships & Oly in the Outback for us! We had 6 lifters on today with some great results and another 4 lifting tomorrow! Christine Reid finished with an 83kg Snatch & a 98kg Clean & Jerk which is a 2kg PB on C&J and 3kg PB on the snatch! Christine also won first place for the women’s session and took home a prize + money! ... Jessica Ryder completed a 43kg Snatch and a 57kg clean and jerk, and ended up with a 100kg total which was a major goal for her! Chelsea Nicoll backed it up from competing last weekend and got a 56kg Snatch (equal PB) and a 65kg clean and jerk finishing on a 121kg total! Mitchell Daniels also backed it up from last weekend and got a 110kg Snatch and a 142kg clean and jerk which is a 4kg competition PB! And a 1kg total PB Jakob Daniels finished up with a 126kg snatch (4kg PB) and a 158kg clean and jerk which is a 1kg total PB aswell! Barry Harden, our amazing Head Coach. Jumped back on the platform and finished with a 66kg Snatch and a 75kg clean and jerk! Barry also took out 1st place in his division for the Queensland Masters Championships. WHAT A TEAM Can’t wait to share tomorrow’s results from another 4 lifters; Scott Mark, Angela Barnas, Daniela Shwarz & Patrick Reiter!

14.01.2022 Max Clark achieved a new person best snatch of 90kg on his way to 3rd place at the State Junior and Under 23 Championships hosted by Toowoomba Weightlifting Club today and Sunday. Max has qualified to lift in the National Juniors later in the year.

14.01.2022 The Sunshine Coast Weightlifting Club had four competitors on Sunday at Oly in the Outback/ Qld Masters Championships. Scott Mark, Angela Barnas, Danielle Schwartz and Patrick Rieter. All won Gold in there respective age groups. Congratulations! Thank you to Sonia, Ed Stenhouse and all the crew at Miles for a fantastic run Competition and fun time. Also, thank you to the QWA, Debbie Keelan, for supporting this event.

14.01.2022 Levi Deans has done it again. This time he has taken out 2nd place in State Junior (under 20) Weightlifting Championships at Toowoomba today.

13.01.2022 Great work to our lifter Jake Daniels for his performance today! Finished with a silver medal, 120kg snatch and a 160kg Clean & jerk - I’d like to add that Jake also went for a 172kg clean and jerk and got a mega clean PB of 6kg! Unfortunately missing the Jerk. Amazing work today Jake well done!

13.01.2022 Congratulations to Max Clark who won the Bob Henderson Shield after a three way tie with Mitch Daniels and Adair Forsyth caused a lift off that ended on 102.5% of PB.

12.01.2022 The girls did the Club proud with PB's alround. Christine pick up the $150.00 1st place with Chelsea 2nd. Jess was very happy after finally hitting 100kg total.

11.01.2022 Hi Everyone, The Weigh-in for the competition this Saturday will be 8.00am with a 9.00am presentation. There are 15 lifters and we will be running it in one session, women's snatch first.... As usual, helpers will be required. We know, Angela, Emily, Christine, Chelsea, Mitch, Dale, Tanya, and Jess, plus a loader from Noosa. If you are available to help and not on the list please let Jake or Barry know. COVID 19 Please note: You must sign in when you arrive. Social distancing is required in the competition/spectator area. Only Athletes and Coaches are permitted in the warm up area. Weigh-in for all FEMALE competitors will be 8-8:30am for a Competition Start (presentation) at 8:50am for a Lift-Off at 9am. 06.01.2022 Congrats to our lifter Angela Barnas for her 2nd place medal in the F87 category Angela finished with a snatch of 64kg (4kg PB) and clean and jerk of 90kg! Well done Ang!

05.01.2022 Congratulations to Levi Deans on breaking the National under 15, 55 category snatch record with a lift of 64kg. Adding his PB clean & jerk of 80kg, Levi also claimed the Total record. This all happened at the Qld All Schools at Tellebudgera today where Levi was awarded 1st place in under 15 and open. This could have been a different outcome it it wasn't for the outstanding coaching of Mitch Daniels.

05.01.2022 The Sunshine Coast Weightlifting Club would like to thank the Sunshine Coast Council for the grant that allowed us to purchase the Eleiko 15kg discs which completed the Eleiko sets. Unfortunately, we can't all begin with 25kg discs.

03.01.2022 Well done to all members this weekend at the Queensland Junior & U23 Championships - everyone did a brilliant job. As a club we did exceptional with some awesome lifting and even some great comments from other coaches/clubs about our technique & quality. ... Hunter - 30kg Competition total PB! 80/100 Chelsea - 2nd place, 4kg clean and jerk PB & national qualifier. 54/69 Mitch - 2nd place 110/135 Max - 3rd place , 3kg Pb snatch, clean and jerk PB. 90/115 (missed 118 with a knee touch) Levi - 2nd place (in under 20’s & under 23’s at only age 13!) 3kg PB in the snatch, 57/66 Although Hayley lifts for Cougars in Brisbane now - we still want to congratulate her for getting 2nd place! All of our members would like to say a massive Thankyou to our coach Barry for coming to Toowoomba and coaching all of us, and for all the time & energy spend on us every week. Also, a Thankyou to Adair & Jake for coming and officiating at the competition.
