18.01.2022 Ever seen an ad, clicked and become annoyed that the size of the product you wanted wasn't in stock? Advertisers should be annoyed at the wasted spend on that click. If you use a quality feed partner/manager, you should be able to set up custom rules. For example, if you have a clothing item in stock, but only the XXXL variant, the probability of the person who is seeing the ad being that size is low. With finite budgets, you're better off only sending products to the feed (for things like Google Shopping or FB Catalogue ads) that have a high probability of having the prospects size. A custom rule like "Only send products with >50% of size or colour variants" can do wonders for your short term ROI and avoid a disappointing user experience.

12.01.2022 It is possible to turn any website action in to a FB Custom Conversion. If you have a button that signals intent, but the URL of your site does not change upon a click of it, then you will find it tricky to set up a FB Custom Conversion via their standard interface. You can add additional code to send any website behaviour you want (button click, scroll 50% etc.) to FB to ultimately use as you "Conversion" in your conversion objective campaign. An easy way to do this, is sim...ply use a GTM trigger you already have set up (or create a new one) then use custom HTML as the tag and use the below (replace 'XYZ' with whatever you want FB to pull through - it's just a name).
