25.01.2022 Move over Ian Thorpe, there's a new champ in town! Melanie competed in the State Champion Swimming Competition at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre, bringing home GOLD in 50m Freestyle, GOLD in 50m Butterfly and GOLD in 50m Backstroke. Congratulations to our swim star, we're so proud of you!

24.01.2022 Yesterday our Allambie Heights Hub celebrated the start of NAIDOC Week with a traditional smoking ceremony followed by a Didge & Dance class. Learning all about the Didgeridoo and how it's played, clients used their clapping sticks to clap along to the beat whilst learning the moves to a traditional dance. Yesterday's cultural experience was made possible by the generous financial support of the Northern Beaches Council through the Community Grant round.
24.01.2022 Our Singleton Hub had a surprise visitor! Santa Claus dropped in to say hello and to see what was on everyone's Christmas list. Thanks to Darlington Rural Fire Brigade for driving him all the way from the North Pole.
23.01.2022 The new Youth Program has kicked off at our Port Stephens Hub. Lucy, who has recently joined Sunnyfield, put her new cooking skills to the test, whipping up some scrambled eggs and a milkshake. With use of only one hand, Lucy learnt how to singlehandedly crack an egg. Well done Lucy! 22.01.2022 Days like today call for an adventure outside. Ben and his Support Worker, Arryn, went to Middle Creek to have morning tea and a walk around Narrabean Lagoon. Whilst they couldn't go for a swim in the lagoon, it didn't stop Ben from trying to get out onto the water.
21.01.2022 Aye aye, Captain! Kane, Dave and Peter from Allambie Heights went on a sailing adventure yesterday near Manly Beach. Sailing instructors showed the boys how to turn the boats left and right and some tips on water safety. Judging from the smiles, they had a fantastic day out on the water!

The programs have helped build valuable experience, develop social and communication skills to support active participation in the community and assist with further education goals. 19.01.2022 Today the ASX hosted their inaugural Australian Markets Trading Day for Charity. 11 charities, including Sunnyfield, benefitted from the event as the ASX donated all revenue from its cash equity markets trading to the ASX Refinitiv Charity Foundation and nabtrade donated the full day’s brokerage revenue. The Today Show also did a live cross to celebrate the ringing of the bell. Thank you ASX Refinitiv Charity Foundation for your continued support of Sunnyfield.

18.01.2022 Dominic has been attending Muswellbrook Men's Shed for the past 12 months, where they have made him feel very welcome. Dominic has enjoyed working and assisting on projects and has been recognised for his efforts with a certificate of achievement. Congratulations Dominic, well deserved.
18.01.2022 The Learning Tree group at Singleton Hub enjoyed the beautiful Spring weather in the hubs newly laid synthetic grass, complete with new furniture and equipment. Thank you to Singleton Diggers Club for assisting us in making this project come to life.
18.01.2022 Leanne from Kemps Creek Hub has spent the last month putting together a cupcake drive to raise money for a hub Christmas celebration. Leanne did it all, learning how to bake cupcakes to piping the frosting and delivering to those who bought them. She even designed the cupcake order form as well as the stickers that went on the boxes. Overall, Leanne produced and sold 164 cupcakes and all her hard work has paid off, as she has now raised enough money to take herself and other clients out to a restaurant for a festive feast. Well done Leanne, what a fantastic initiative and amazing result.

16.01.2022 Lake Macquarie's Junk to Funk program gets clients working together on projects, building them using recycled items. The team have just completed their first pallet garden for the hub. A big thankyou to their volunteer, Graham for mentoring during this exciting program.
16.01.2022 The Bright Nights program has restarted at our Tweed Heads Hub and the group couldn't be more excited. For their first outing they went to Sip and Paint and the photos speak for themselves. The social group enjoyed creating fruity mocktails together as well as a beautiful painting to take home. 16.01.2022 Now the days are getting longer and warmer, Port Stephen’s Support Worker, Tracy, has been teaching Andrew how to fish, quickly becoming his new favourite hobby. Andrew is not only enjoying the relaxation of fishing, but has also learnt how to read tides, rig up his line, what bait to use and built new friendships with fellow fishermen.

14.01.2022 Liam and Aiden from Muswellbrook Hub learning how to bake in the Learning Tree program. Both boys learnt how to follow a recipe and measure out ingredients. They particularly loved reaping the benefits at the end when they got to taste their sweet treats.

11.01.2022 Sunnyfield clients were treated to an exclusive online concert with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra as part of their ‘Music for Health’ program. Clients and staff enjoyed a private performance with songs including Jingle Bells, Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer, The Little Drummer Boy and Happy (by Pharrell). From all around Sunnyfield, clients logged in and enjoyed this spectacular symphony. Thank you to the Sydney Symphony Orchestra for providing such a magical experience.

After completing the Sunnyfield SLES program where he learnt the responsibilities of being an employee, Max took on the role of Process Worker at Sunnyfield. For Max, his role is more than just a job, it’s his community - a place where he has formed friendships and life skills promoting independence. 06.01.2022 Our Short Term Accommodation service in Carringbah has taken Christmas to a new level! The house has beautifully decorated their entrance, spreading a little Christmas joy to everyone who visits.
06.01.2022 School's out! Molly from Maitland Hub has recently finished school and focusing on her independence and community access. Molly has been working at her skills with travel training, keeping fit and active with walks and being a valued member of her community. Very inspiring work from Molly.
05.01.2022 More beautiful creations have come out of Blacktown Hub. Lillian, David, Cassie, Kerrianne and Paul made paper mache bowls as part of their art program, each getting to take their bowls home to brighten up their kitchens.
05.01.2022 Daniel and Brittany from Singleton Hub stepped back into Maitland's history with a visit to Maitland Gaol last week. Taking a tour around the old gaol while listing to the audio guide, they learnt all sorts of interesting facts about the heritage site and daring escapes. They were very excited to share what they had learnt when they got home.
03.01.2022 The all-abilities aqua fitness program has started at our Lake Macquarie Hub, thanks to the genorsity of @lakemaccitycouncil. The group were beyond excited to receive aquatic cowboy hats to tie in with their Wild West theme and enjoyed working out to the beats of their playlist they created specially for the program.
02.01.2022 Tamworth has been spring cleaning and revamping the courtyard this month as part of their sustainability program. Staff and clients all pitched in to prep the area, setup the new herb gardens with soil and plant the seed. All that's left is for the plants and herbs to grow.
01.01.2022 Our Tamworth Hub joined ABC New England North West on Wednesday to celebrate NAIDOC Week. Held in the hub's courtyard, the celebrations started with a traditional smoking ceremony followed by live music from local musicians. Sunnyfield client, L'tisha had the honour of cutting the delicious cake on the day.

Starting out in the production team, she quickly proved she was an enthusiastic and dedicated team member always willing to help others. She is well liked by colleagues and staff and is seen as a friend and leader in the workplace. When a new role of Assistant Team Leader was created, Michelle was the obvious choice.
