SunnyKids recently recently received a COVID19 Community Response Grant for facility improvement to assist with repairs and replacements at Head Office. 02.01.2022 Today, 5 year old Faith*and 6 year old Hope* look like normal girls playing, running and laughing together as they jumped around in mud puddles outside their new home. They look happy, carefree and safe. At first glance, you would never have guessed the amount of abuse and trauma they had both experienced, or that only a year earlier, they were on the run from their extremely violent father. They were homeless and living in their car with their mum, not knowing when their ne...xt meal would be or where they would be sleeping that night. Children are innocent. They should never have to suffer. If it wasn’t for one kind stranger and the support from our community, it would be hard to imagine where Faith and Hope would be today. With the help from our donators and supporters like Solid Ground Roasters , SunnyKids were able to step in and helped build a community around this family. Together we helped make sure these girls and their mother were safe and free from Domestic and Family Violence. Every time you purchase a bag of the hero blend from Solid Ground, you are directly supporting the children and their families that need it the most. Drop past MINT. Espresso Bar and taste the Hero difference for yourself. Help us break the cycle. #ittakesavillage #solidground #breakthecycle

01.01.2022 Today I was joined by Zed Seselja, Assist. Minister for Finance, Charities and Electoral Matters and Senator for the ACT, via ZOOM together with local not-for-p...rofits and charities from around the Sunshine Coast to speak about the issues they are facing during these difficult times. I was blown away by the extent to which our local community groups have innovated and collaborated through these past few months. While they have been forced to make changes, as we all have, they have adjusted to the pandemic and ensured their services have continued - truly impressive.
