06.01.2022 A message from Peter Guest Club President Hello fellow flyers. The Wentworth aerodrome is just about to go through a major upgrade sealing the East West runway and major upgrades to the apron. These works will start in April/May 2020 so unfortunately the Sunraysia Sport Aero Club Queen’s birthday weekend annual flyin will not take place this year. We plan a big event for 2021 to welcome everyone to flyin to the upgraded YWTO in 2021 to continue our Queen’s birthday tradition ...along with our Saturday night dinner. The new Mildura airport management kindly offered YMIA to hold our flyin there but our committee decided the logistics of moving our flyin and dinner to another location was not feasible. We still intend to have a dinner at our Wentworth clubrooms on Saturday the 6th of June and all are welcome to privately fly in to YMIA or the Sunraysia gliding club to attend. Anyone interested can contact me, Peter Guest on 0418147824 to organise transport from Mildura to Wentworth for the dinner. RSVP 2 weeks earlier would be appreciated to arrange this. Wentworth council have been brilliant keeping our club informed on the works and they are keen on our 2021 event to be a welcome to the new Wentworth aerodrome. The works are expected to be completed in early November 2020. We intend to post progress updates on our Facebook page and feel free to contact me. See more
