22.01.2022 Did you know that gum desease (periodontitis)has a genetic predisposition and has been closely associated with many systemic conditions like diabetes, atherosclerosis etc?

16.01.2022 As of Monday the 28th of September 2020 the Australian Dental Association announced that all dental practices across Melbourne are able to operate under Level 1 Dental restrictions. This means that we are now able to see our patients for regular dental maintenance and cleaning appointments! To our patients whose maintenance appointments we have had to reschedule, we are very excited to announce that we can now see you! Here is a video from Dr Asha Muhammad below explaining why it is so important to not miss your preventative care.

16.01.2022 Covid 19 update We are pleased to advise level 3 restrictions which only allowed for emergency and urgent treatment have been lifted. We will be moving back into providing all dental treatment for our patients with the exception of dental cleaning, implant surgery, and any procedure that cannot be performed under the safety of the aerosol reducing rubber dam.... This is a huge step forward in being able to provide all services under the current conditions, and we are so excited to be seeing your smiles again. Although we can perform cleans using a non aerosol instrument, Routine dental cleaning will still be postponed until further instruction from the Australian dental association and the Australian governments advice. We believe in providing the best care and treatment for our patients, and in postponing this treatment we are ensuring we can use the best possible equipment to keep your teeth and gums as healthy as possible. Thankyou to everyone practicing social distancing and following the advice, we hope to see you all with no restrictions in the next few months #dentalhealth #stayingsafe #familydentist #endeavourhills #community #slowthespread #hallam #cityofcasey #narrewarrennorth @dr.tahmidreza @sunrisedentalsurgery @inspireliveinspire

14.01.2022 To our wonderful patients, Due to the recent increase in COVID-19 cases, we at Sunrise Dental Surgery are following the recommendations set out by the Australian Dental Association. It is with heavy hearts but with optimistic mindset that we announce we will be moving back to level 3 restrictions from Friday the 7th of August. We must rally together and do the right thing as a community to help win the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. Level 3 restrictions permits us to pe...rform only emergency and urgent dental care. We will need to postpone all non-urgent dental procedures for 6 weeks from now. If you have an appointment scheduled over the next couple of weeks, Lisa or Jayde will be contacting you shortly. Please remember that just like last time, we will still be open to assist you should you have a dental emergency, or an enquiry. Call our clinic, book online, or send us a Facebook message and we will make ourselves available to help. We will be offering complimentary phone consultations by one of our expert dentists for those who wish to discuss any treatment options. 08.01.2022 Restrictions easing back to level 2:) We as victorians should be proud to bring the covid 19 numbers under control,so far! The Australian Dental Association announced late last week that from the 28th of September the dental industry will be moving from Level 3 to Level 2 restrictions!... Level 2 restrictions mean that we can see patients for non emergency treatment such as crowns, fillings and hygiene (hand scaling only). At this stage we should be moving to Level 1 restrictions (hygiene cleans with our usual ultrasonic scaler) towards the end of October. Please feel free to give our reception team a call to book your appointment or with any questions. We are looking forward to seeing you all soon!!

07.01.2022 Tooth Decay is a diet-related disease that commonly develops in response to our consumption of sugar. Sugar from the food and drink that we consume is taken up by decay causing bacteria that live on the surface of our teeth. If we are not regularly drinking tap water after we consume food or brushing our teeth/rinsing our mouth, these bacteria process the sugar and can turn it into acid, which is then produced on the surface of our teeth - drawing out minerals. Without any in...tervention or effort to to prevent or stop the disease process, it can eventually result in the formation of tooth decay. Our top tips for reducing sugar consumption to help prevent tooth decay: - Eating and Drinking Well: Including plenty of fruit, vegetables and dairy into your diet and drinking tap water throughout the day. - Brushing: Only 50% of people brush their teeth twice a day. We must brush our teeth for 2 minutes twice a day in circular motions. - Flossing: Once a day to remove plaque from in between your teeth. Flossing helps to prevent gum disease, tooth decay and bad breath. - Visit your dentist at least every 6 month. ---- For more information visits our website at https://sunrisedentalsurgery.com.au/ #dentalhealthweek

03.01.2022 WE ARE OPEN!! We are currently operating under Level 3 restrictions as set out by the Australian Dental Association and we are open if you have a dental emergency during this period. Rest assured that you are allowed to travel out of your 5km radius for Medical and Dental reasons.
