03.01.2022 It's been a while since I last posted Alot has changed This page was initially set up to document my families journey from desert dwellers to living on the ocean full time 6 months ago, my husband of 16yrs and I decided to uncouple from our marriage and whilst we still love each other deeply as friends, we decided to step into the world as single individuals but still dedicated to providing our kids a life of love and happiness and always knowing their parents love them de...eply and still love each other. . However, it changed our plans to live on the water as a family but it hasn't changed my plans to own my own yacht and continue exploring the worlds oceans . So as I begin my journey as a single mumma, I hope to bring you all along as I find a yacht and start living my life's goal of adventure on the oceans . Stay tuned.... It's going to be one hell of an adventure I'm sure .

02.01.2022 3 years ago Dave and I decided we wanted to take the kids traveling. Call it a first retirement A very close friend of ours lost his battle the year prior to cancer. He was Dave's age. His son wasn't even 1 years old. We vowed then to make as many memories as we could with our two rugrats. In honour of our mate who wouldn't have the chance to so with his son.... We originally planned to get a sprinter van and travel Europe for 6mths. 2 years ago we were talking van layouts and since then, its evolved into our sailing dream. Partly because we love the ocean and partly because we realized we could go for longer in a yacht. Goals can change. Goals can evolve. If they do, that's ok. It doesn't mean you failed at the first goal, as long as you are still working towards your souls calling, then it's all on purpose . Some have called us crazy. Others said we are throwing away our lives and our finances by going sailing. Why leave good paying mining jobs? I, Lena have even been accused of ruining my husband's life for thinking up such a stupid idea and called a bad mother for going to homeschool (or boatschool) the kids but at the end of the day, not everyone is going to understand your journey and that's ok. We travel with our kids and on solo trips because we want to fill our lives with as many memories instead of things. For us, our presence is more important than any present will ever be. .
