24.01.2022 We often get asked the question "whats it worth" or "how much should I charge" by our local artists when they bring in their artwork and really that is not a question to be asking at delivery point so we went looking and found this workshop that will help many with this question. It is a free workshop put on by NSW Gov and it will give you plenty of free resources and we know that we all love those right!! 22.01.2022 We have not shared these photos before and instead of our usual Monday Dad joke we felt today we need to ask for your help again ... and these photos were the beginning of a path we never could have anticipated happening .. This time last year we asked for your help, we asked you to help us help those who were fighting & facing this and other walls of fury. We asked and boy did you respond, today we are asking for your help again .. we want to know who you are and how you hel...ped because we want to create a community thank you to you ..all of you, to those businesses that donated boxes and boxes of supplies, to the children that used their pocket money to buy a packet of lozenges ..you all helped, the community of Greater Port Macquarie that stood up and helped we want you!. The day these photos were taken a year ago felt like our world was on fire and for some it was .. then you happened, so many of you happened, you stepped forward and you did what you could when you could and we have not spoken much of it as we were blown away on so many levels of how you all responded but its time we find the words to share just how amazing you all were. If you donated food or time with what turned into a mammoth community effort with us last year then please stand up again now and comment below, if you donated at the Coles supermarkets that includes you as we assisted in redirected those donations to where it needed to go too. If you know someone who helped and they are not on FB please email us a photo of them to [email protected] we want to show and thank as many as we can. We want to show how many hundreds of people stood up and stood together, please help us do that! 10.01.2022 Two red dots straight up on opening day, congratulations to Fi Muras and Gloria Muddle for your sales. Thank you to our Patrons of local arts who made the investment into these beautiful expressive works of art. Opening day was a little quiet compared to previous years with the opening only open to the participating artists and a few extra special patrons so we are looking forward to seeing who makes it in over the next few weeks as this exhibition runs.... 10.01.2022 The Art classes with Patricia Philp kicked of this week and all the participants got very busy with water colours, gouache, making their own colours and combinations. Taking that scary white piece of paper away and turning it into a fun piece of creative exploration. Ok so here is a little peek into a few journals..now remember that Small Works 2020 opens on the 7th of November and there are over 15 participating artists involved.

04.01.2022 Wednesday is here people its midweek madness at 2/25 Central Rd, Scott is busy in the workshop with a HUGE range of framing jobs and I (Cherie) am full speed ahead with programming for next years events and next months Small Works exhibition. We wanted to show you another version of framing that we do, these amazing pieces of history came in with one of our Framing Family members. These are out of a very, very, very old train these are the original frames the holes you see i...s where these get bolted to the cargo carriers overhead. The train carriage has been converted to a home down south in the Manning Valley. They 100% needed to stay as original as possible, they came in pretty grimy and they needed a big clean, the timber was also in bad shape so Scott pulled it all apart, gave the timber a fresh coat to bring it back to its beautiful colour, the glass got a clean, acid free backings got put on and everything got put back together. These kinds of jobs are another service we really enjoy offering, we take great pride in keeping the authenticity of the pieces and use all the years of experience we have to restore and protect the heritage and history they contain. The images within the frames are from Newcastle, they are just amazing to look at.
