25.01.2022 Had fun yesterday working on our pumpkins for Halloween. The local kids are coming for a 'Monster Party' on Friday night. Apple Bobbing & toasting marshmallows in the fire pit. Lots of fun & games at the Tavern.

24.01.2022 Christmas Tree competition at Sunset Tavern. All the decorations are made with recycled objects. Everything from paper clips to pipe cleaners, corks, to cupcake wrappers, cocktail umbrellas to cutlery, seed pods to shells, buttons to bows! Well done to all the 'Karumba Artists', the trees look fantastic.

21.01.2022 Melbourne cup day was a great day. The 'ladies' looked fabulous and some of the guys scrubbed up quite well too.

21.01.2022 It's raining! The heavens have opened at long last. Hope the people on the land that are doing it tough are receiving this fantastic relief as well. Here's to the salt plains becoming lakes. If you get the chance to travel to the Gulf following the rains, the sights are a wonder! Water/lakes as far as you can see, reflecting the big skies and the birdlife is spectacular. Water lillies everywhere! The Gulf in the wet season is mind blowing.

18.01.2022 Well still on holiday but with technology I have heard the Tavern did not win the annual cricket match. 2015 was not our again. Another year that the Karumba Lodge have beaten us. Next year we will have to import some players to boost the team. Well done to the Lodge on another victory!!!!!!!!! I will continue my holiday.... Dawn See more

10.01.2022 Australia Day, January 26th. The Sunset Tavern verses the Karumba Lodge in the Annual 'Pub vs Pub' Cricket match. The game is played at the Karumba Recreational Club and is lots of laughs and generally bad skill involved in the game. You are welcome to come along and cheer for your favourite watering hole! The Tavern has not won the trophy for the past 6 years, but did manage to get a plus run score in 2014. 2015 COULD BE OUR YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

09.01.2022 EASTER EGG HUNT - for the kids. Sunday 5th April at 5pm in the grounds at Sunset Tavern. Then the kids get to toast marshmallows in the fire pit. Come along and join in the fun HAPPY EASTER 2015!

09.01.2022 The Karumba 'Pensioners' celebrated Christmas with lunch at the Tavern on Wednesday. The Karumba state school kids entertained them with Christmas carols. Everyone went home with a goodie bag!

05.01.2022 Chef 'Killer', Miss Halloween - ready for Melbourne Cup Day, Gulf Pirate and 4XXXX Rodeo Rider. All ready for Halloween!

03.01.2022 26/27/28th Sept 2014 - Inaugural Gulf Glory Barra Bash (we have had a couple of Gulf Glory's this week) is being held in Karumba. All monies raised will assist with the Barramundi restocking into the river systems of the Gulf of Carpentaria. Win x Win for everyone. This is a sustainable fishing competition with all Barramundi being catch & release. Entrants will receive ID tags which need to appear with measuring chart in their photos! Lots of fun & games happening at Sunset Tavern throughout the weekend. Even the weigh in is here. Enjoy a few cold ones while you watch the AFL Grand Final and NRL Semis during that weekend.
