There are around 25,000 SMEs on the Sunshine Coast. According to the ABS, 60% have average turnovers under $200,000. So if we simply changed the way we buy local produce, local beer, local marketing (anything) by only 10%, that increases the local economy and income by a staggering $300 million. 20% is $600million. Try and do that any ...other way! But it takes a change. The long term benefit of supporting local has far more value than just a short term cheap price. It grows employment, puts local money back into the local economy by spending with more local businesses, pays local taxes, builds local infrastructure, supports local schools and charities.
