We need to look at and organise fees - some was paid up for the term, semester and year. But most importantly of all, l...Continue reading

16.01.2022 Here is an early Easter activity for you for this weekend: Create a point board and practise point work! Send us a picture of your creation so we can post it on our fb page as an inspiration for us all Exercise -1) 20 static touches in the en garde position, then try combinations. Relax the shoulder, head up. 2) Practise touches with lunges. First slowly. Stop and correct your position on the lunge. Point first. Speed it up gradually. As Pasqual would have said: Tip, Toe Touch. Finish with 3) step lunge and touch. Again start off slowly, point first. You can repeat as much as you like, and rest in between. Enjoy, have fun, and be creative

16.01.2022 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Uqi5Z2yaHk Hello SCFC! I hope you have had an enjoyable Easter weekend. If you're are looking to stay active with your fencing over Easter and during this prolonged break, here are some drills you might find useful. Footwork drills might not be your favourite fencing activity, but they are nevertheless very important These examples are very varied. Do what you can, I'd suggest you do them slowly and precisely first. Coach Tyler has obviously done a lot of footwork exercises, so do the best that you can, and skip the drills you might find too challenging at this stage. These are drills you can keep coming back to and increase intensity and speed. Let us know if you have any specific needs or wishes in terms of fencing practise at home, and we will do our best to find examples for you. Regards SCFC.

03.01.2022 Below is an email that was sent to all clubs last night. Looks like Saturday was our final day for the foreseeable future. Stay safe and practice at home. Pasqual and Nanna. ... Dear Clubs Minutes ago the Prime Minister announced a list of venues and gatherings that will not be allowed to open from midday tomorrow which included indoor sports centres and gyms. The implication for fencing is that this effectively will shut down the sport for the foreseeable future. I have not spoken with the management committee as yet this evening, they are due to meet on Friday evening following an AFF President's meeting to begin planning for how we both continue as a sport through this difficult time and recover at a time in the future. I will continue to keep you informed as to any information provided by Federal and State Governments and the AFF. I understand that this will be a significant issue for many in our community and I would like to encourage everyone who will be impacted to look at the assistance packages that the Federal Government has announced over the last couple of weeks and how they may assist you through this difficult time. Regards Karen Andersen President

You will not miss out on joining the rest of the class, you re-enter the regular class from 5-6pm - in time for competition! The format for Term 4 is - come and fence and increase training. We have opened up again on Saturdays to facilitate this, without extra cost to you. The time frame is large enough for everyone to make the most of it, even if you can't arrive at 4 pm or 8:30 am - there is still plenty of training time. Please come ready and organised, always with water and in training gear. Current distancing rules and general covid 19 rules still apply. Total fees for everyone for T4 is $150.
