23.01.2022 MINI STEAM TRAIN RIDES TODAY! Sunday 22nd March. Come and treat the kids (big or little!) to a Train Ride! The trains start at 10am, and will be running through to 3:00pm. Rides are just $3 each, or 4 tickets for $10.... Kids under 3 ride free! Water, Juice poppers, soft drinks etc. for sale. Babies in arms/carriers not permitted to ride. Remember, closed-in shoes are required to ride the trains. NO thongs or sandals please! We are at 1 Florence Street, Nambour, Queensland. 23.01.2022 Thanks to everyone who came along to our running day yesterday. We hope you had a good time. The day also saw our engine 'Heinzie' is back in service after a new part was made, so our younger drivers were very keen to have a drive, and they were kindly lent a raincoat! We hope to see you again next month! :D

22.01.2022 FREE ENTRY MODEL RAILWAY SALE and DISPLAY SHOW TOMORROW 9AM - 2PM Hosted by the Caloundra & District Model Railway Association... Model Train Sale & Display Day Saturday 11th April 2015 Caloundra Arts Centre 5 North St, Caloundra Opposite "The Oaks OASIS RESORT " 9am to 2pm FREE ENTRY The Caloundra & Distrcit Model Railway Association will host its display this Saturday. Display will be train layouts complete with buildings and scenery. It will bring back some childhood memories to many visitors. On display will be locomotives from the Sunshine Coast Railway Modellers Society (Nambour). Also on show will be a Thomas Train set-up and a Lego Display, among several other railway displays. Light refreshments available A raffle will be held An assortment of preloved railway rolling stock, engines, track, buildings, electrics, books, videos, dvds, etc. will also be on sale. 17.01.2022 UPDATE Friday 24 JULY 2020 ........... We cannot operate at present and we will let everyone know here on Facebook when we can start running again. We have to wait for the State Government, SC Council and our insurance company to all agree that we can start running again and when that happens we will immediately let everyone know here on Facebook...... Naturally we want to start operating again as soon as we can - and safely for everyone's sake. ... Yes we are fully aware of the State Government relaxation of regulations but there is far more to our operating our railway than just a relaxation of the regulations. We currently do not have sufficient Members / volunteers to operate to the Covid 19 regulations on many aspects for YOUR and OUR safety. So please no more calls before 8 am or abusing us for not operating. It is with everyone's safety in mind that we make decisions. During this time we are taking advantage of refurbishing our locos and this includes fitting a new $8000 boiler to our brown steam loco Heinzie plus track renewal and upgrade. When we do start operating again we will be looking for new members to help us operate our railway. You do not need to own a locomotive - just an interest in railways and we will also teach you in all aspects of operating the railway ..... We look forward to seeing you again soon.

16.01.2022 SUNDAY 17 March 2019 We are looking for new members to assist us with the operation of the railway in Nambour. On Sunday 17 March 2019 we are inviting anyone interested in joining our Society to come and have a look at our operation between... 10.30an and 1 pm at the Florence St Park in Nambour. Trains will NOT be operating but we will show you our locomotives and rolling stock and how we operate and what is expected of members. Our railway is a full passenger carrying railway but in miniature. So if you bring children with you we ask that you keep them with you all the time as you are visiting a real railway operating site. If you like railways you will love seeing our operation and you can be as involved as you wish. We need members to assist in every aspect of the railway operation from looking after the track, which involves welding, to cleaning and maintaining the locomotives and carriages. Then there is the plumbing, compressed air facilities and electrical and then on open days to the public the ticket selling and catering. Many of us have been with the Society for many decades and we now need assistance to continue with our railway operation. We hope to see you there to-morrow. Enquiries ........ Ken ..... 0417 769993
