16.01.2022 Working at Bli Bli this week. Resanding a three bedroom 1980s home with decking . It's amazing the difference modern finishes make on mixed hardwood floors. Solvent based finishes when they age they yellow and the boards look the same. With water based finishes the colours and textures of each board are shown. Lovely pinks, reds, browns, greens. They don't yellow and look better for longer,your average three bedroom house we can sand and apply three coats of polyurethane for under $2000 . 12.01.2022 After a very wet couple of months, now’s the time to check your deck coatings.The tell tale signs than your deck needs a coat are a dullness in main wear areas or any obvious wear in sun effected areas. The aim is to coat the deck before (if it’s a water based coating )the coating starts to split/delaminate. If it’s an oil based coating, timing is not as critical as with a water based but if the coating is left too long the timber can be damaged and the look of the finish may suffer. 08.01.2022 These are recent water based finish jobs we have completed,all coated with Bona Mega Matt.Its an environmentally friendly finish which gives a Matt look to your floors.Not only is it hard wearing it doesnt yellow with time like the traditional solvent based finishes.It lightens up the timber and shows each boards colour.
