25.01.2022 Have you ever wondered why on the Sunshine Volleysport website the price is NEVER quoted 6 or more, for 10 or more or 20 or more. It is not hard to workout that our prices are the best quotes in Australia, because we sell more, and why is that, because we actually "know" all about what we are selling and how are we able to offer cheaper prices, because we overall buy more as well, not in one go but as I said ..... overall we buy a lot. That is how come we knew about the Wilson OPTX ball before AVW had even said anything about them. We have our "spies" too, but until they WANT a NON FIVB (or for that matter not even VA approved) approved ball like Wilson, instead of Mikasa or Molten.
24.01.2022 And why dont I sell Mikasa .. well to know the answer to that you would have to ask the current Australian Distributor. Suffice to say they dont supply me, in actual fact neither will the Australian Distributor of Molten either, it has taken me a long time to get people who will. The funny thing to me was that just like Mikasa, the Molten people would not tell me why either, then I got further into trouble with them for supplying Molten Volleyballs under the wholesale price, the funny thing being that they would not tell me how much the wholesale price was ?? So how was I supposed to sell at above this particular price if I didnt even know how much it was ?? I really think that they were annoyed because of the backlash from other retailers.
24.01.2022 Now you will probably say after I type this next bit, "He never was going to have the balls, that he said he was getting in". I wont be getting any MVA300 in stock after all. But to show that I wasnt lying I will have some stock of the MVA200 instead. I will also be having the V300W as well. And although I cannot have the MVA300 right at this moment I do intend on keeping to get them anyway, so wish me luck and I will keep on trying to obtain it.
24.01.2022 Here is a question for you people out there ..... What is the difference between the Mikasa V200W (formerly the MVA200) and the V300W (formerly the MVA300) ? And the answer is ..... not much at all. The 200 was designed for use at the "Olympic Games" Level, and the 300 was designed for use at the "National" Level( originally called the MVP200NC, and the "NC" stood for National Candidate and that is it. And I should know as it was me who first brought it into Australia. That is why a normal person CANNOT tell the difference between the two models. Which is why we here at Sunshine Volleysport had decided not to stock the V200W or MVA200. We feel that paying all that money out for a ball that you might use out in the "back yard" is not really worth it, when the same person could not feel the difference .
24.01.2022 Today I was reminded of something that I had forgotten. The types of Volleyballs that are currently available here in Australia. There are only 2 currently available ..... Firstly the Adult range and then the Kids Volleyball from Mikasa. But were you aware that there is a Youths range as well (for example the Mikasa SYV5 ?? Kids ball (the Mikasa SKV5) is only 6 ounces, the Youths is 8 ounces and then there is the Adult range from 9.8 ounces in weight. So currently there is a gaping big hole where there are no 8.0 ounces weighted ball available here. The current gap between Kids and Adults (6.0 to 9.8 ounces) is just too big so I am currently attempting to fix that situation right now.
22.01.2022 It has been a while ........ but Ultra Ankle LLC in the USA will be sending me some more stock, so as to bolster my sagging numbers of stock. For the moment it will just be the ZOOM though there will also be some Lower and Upper brace straps as well
22.01.2022 Today I received my shipment that I have waiting for. And already I have had a tentative order, but so far not confirmed. I only have 9 VLS300 on hand and wont be able to obtain anymore until February unfortunately. I will then order more . so pre orders are now being accepted, otherwise I will keep on running out of stock until I need to order my Indoor Volleyball stock.
21.01.2022 Here is a bit of Nostalgia for you..... Before I was head of Mikasa Sports Australia, Molten was the Official Game Ball for both Indoor and Beach Volleyball. It was I who got Mikasa Volleyball Australia approved and it was I who introduced the 8 panel Indoor Blue / Yellow Volleyball into Australia. I remember people asking me if it was a "stitched" or "moulded" ball ? But would not believe me when I said "Moulded" !! At the time I believed that Mikasa would help people stop b...alls from from being "pilferred" unfortunately I was wrong due everyone switching ALL of their volleyballs over to the one type, and then after I lost the rights for Australia the prices of the balls went up very significantly almost overnight. I never thought the top line ball would go over $100 (but it did). And was done by the market leader too (AVW) not just once, but twice, but had to lower it as people would not buy it, being so high. And is currently at $106.00 each. See more
20.01.2022 I just realized that forgot to say how much I sell the Mikasa V300W for (of course it is the cheapest) $85 for the V300W and only $75 for the MVA300. Yes ...... thats right, we sell the MVA300 as well, tell me who does ? I prefer not the sell the V200W or MVA200 as I dont think these days that they are worth the high amount of money that is being charged for them. But if you prefer them please let me know and I will give you Australias best price, and not just 2 or 3 dollars underneath AVWs price either (we are looking here at under $100. Please contact me at [email protected]
20.01.2022 Speaking of "trying to do things right" I realised this week that I have doing volleyball equipment since 1981, thats 38 years now. I have been in this game since BEFORE David Eldridge started Elson Volleyball, since before Bill McHoul started AVW, since before the volleyballshop.com.au and lastly Oz Volley in Queensland. During this time I was responsible for the introduction of Mikasa into Australia (although I did have a lot of people pushing to do so). But now feel that ...the doing of sponsorship deals is much "too restrictive" . why ? .. because of what has happened with brand since that .. the price, it gone WAY to high. I started Sunshine Volleysport off the benefit volleyball in general, the only people currently benefitting at the moment, is the importer and the retailers with the large amount of money that they are making on Mikasa. I tried to show this by supplying some Molten Volleyballs at what I believe are low prices to what is being charged by Mikasa (it used to be the other way around when I was supplying Mikasa). When I ran Mikasa changing from the original 18 panel ball to the 8 panel (spiral ball) did not change the retail price AT ALL. But it did this time though. As a consequence I believe that the ball approval should not be an exclusive like it is at the moment, what do you think ?? See more
20.01.2022 Just a quick note to inform people who may be interested in some Adidas Kneepads at cheaper prices. As I have now just turned 65 yo I am reducing my stock that I do, one of the areas I wish to no longer do is the sale of Kneepads. If anyone is interested in a large number of kneepads for a reduced price please contact me via facebook, ring me on 0417 311 647 or email [email protected]. I would be happy to also supply an amount of Adidas Water Bottles to be given away for free, depends on number of kneepads willing to take.
19.01.2022 Sunshine Volleysport is the Australian distributor for Indonesian company PROTEAM. Today we started "the Ball rolling" for the sport of FUTSAL after already doing light weight Volleyballs for beginners. We have ordered some samples in, and have placed some pictures of them below.
18.01.2022 Today I am announcing something new, we are starting to REDUCE our product lines like everyone is trying so very hard not to do ! Today we have deleted our Volleyball Shoes and have started on our kneepads as well !! So if you are after a pair of Kneepads now is the time to get them, there is only one proviso you need to buy at least two pairs to obtain a discount. But what a discount ..... the Adidas Elite White Kneepads instead of going for $45 a pair, for only $20.
17.01.2022 By now people who checkout my website would have seen that I am now doing Molten Basketballs. Well I intend on adding to that area with something Basketball people dont see too much ... a Molten Strategy Board, but wait.... not just one, but TWO, a topline magnetic board, and a "clipboard" style as well !! I almost forgot to add at a price that will amaze.
16.01.2022 Today I would like to tell people why Beach Volleyballs are "stitched" and Indoor Volleyballs are moulded. When Volleyball first started up they played with a stitched ball because (at that time) the moulded process had not been invented. When it was changed over, they found that balls using the "moulded" process were not "water proof" and to this day any sports ball used outdoor needs to be stitched as moulding a sportsball is not a water proof process.
16.01.2022 Have you wondered at all why the Mikasa SKV5 sells for around $30 and yet Joust can sell their ball for under $20 ?? There is a reason you know, if you take off a wholesale margin off the Mikasa ball you end up with something to the Joust price. So what does that mean ?? It means that the Joust price is in actual fact being charged to you the end user at a higher profit margin than Mikasa. At present I cannot give you any more details than that, but I soon hope to show pictures and also give an EVEN better price than that, as well as offer a top quality not just junior COMPETITION volleyball as well. But a cheaper price on the EVA foam junior Volleyball as well.
16.01.2022 Now some people might say that wearing sleeves should not be in Volleyball. There actually is a precedent for as long ago players used to wear uniform tops that had long sleeves, but because players used to roll them up and so were worn at different lengths, the FIVB was not happy with this as were supposed to be "uniforms" and so banned "long sleeve tops" altogether. These days the FIVB takes a more pragmatic approach to "sleeves" as they would to kneepads. The evidence of t...his is that the USA still use long sleeve as well as the other lengths of playing tops. Using sleeves takes away the heat buildup and decreases the amount of perspiration deposited onto the volleyball, which needs to be "wiped off" and is why people are on the corners of the court to constantly wipe the balls. So call us here at Sunshine Volleysport right now, and we will put aside your sleeve for 2020. See more
14.01.2022 I see by the number of people that were reached by my last post, that they would agree with me that it is not just the shoes that you wear when playing when playing the sport of Volleyball, that the ball itself also has a lot to do with things as well. Which brings me to my next topic ..... the ball itself and I have for a long time noticed (before AVW went over to Mikasa) that AVW has been "pushing" the Molten V5M5500 "leather" Volleyball (and AVW still has them, the funny ...thing is that Molten DO NOT). The thing that gets me though is that this particular has not been sold here in Australia for quite a number of "years", as this particular ball has NOT been wanted since before the FIVB stopped homolgating leather balls in 2005. Yes... only synthetic leather balls have been approved since 2005 (that 15 years ago), it makes me wonder how "old" the balls from AVW are that being stocked right now, as being deflated for too long will leave a "round mark" on leather balls if they are stored for too long, this condition does not remain for too long after synthetic balls after pumped up. But does with leather, as well as the fact that synthetic balls these days last a lot longer than leather ones. When I was Mikasa one of the main selling points for me was that back then the Molten people always "pushed" leather rather than synthetic (mainly because they cost more and therefore Molten gave the retailers more money in profit, and who did the main pushing for Molten back then ....... two guesses .... and it wasnt Elson Volley, in fact, they were the first back then to to retail Mikasa, as they.... like me...... were in retail to help the sport of Volleyball). To confirm this ...... who was the first to sell a volleyball for a price over $90 a ball.... and it was not me. To finish up ... did you know that you can obtain Volleyball shoes from Rebel Sports cheaper than from AVW, as they (AVW) actually RRP or dearer, but that is all they have though as Rebel is dearer on ball side of things, and would not even think of buying their kneepads. 14.01.2022 It seems that I have done a mistake (no kidding).. what on ?? The item being the Mikasa V300W, actually. It should have been the MVA300, so my apologies for that and I will be making changes to my website this weekend. As well as later on there will actually be MORE of them for you to choose from.
14.01.2022 I forgot to write one VERY important thing that you should take into consideration. It is NOT the most important thing in supplying gear to people if you are the BIGGEST, it is what products you are supplying and how much they cost the end user of the products you are selling to them that matters. For example ...... there is nothing wrong with Molten Volleyballs, no manufacturer now makes Genuine Leather Volleyballs (even Mikasa used to make them ie MVL200). But check what ty...pe of volleyball is best for what you want it for, and dont use an indoor ball outdoors. There is one thing that I had forgotten to say ..... Why retailers preferred to sell the Molten V5M5500 ? The answer is simple ..... the Molten V5M5500 genuine leather only lasted for months and needed replacing in order to last a "whole" indoor season, whereas the Mikasa synthetic ball would last for years ..... once the word got out that it did there was no stopping people wanting to use Mikasa instead of Molten, but it was not the fault of Molten, but, the people selling it, as they knew how long the leather Molten would last as compared to their synthetic versions. And that my friends is why I currently I am happy to sell Molten synthetic volleyballs. See more
13.01.2022 My last post was so well received that I thought I would try this one straight after it. I also have another type of Adidas Kneepads (the Version 2.0) that I would also like to inform everyone about ..... on my website it normally goes for $30 a pair, but now, until sold out, I am selling it for only $10 a pair. Minimum quantities apply so get in contact with me on 0417 311 647 or email me at [email protected] The difference this time is that they are available in or Black or White in Senior or Junior.
13.01.2022 I dont know if you have heard of "Oz Volley" or not, but it started up when I needed someone to supply my gear in Queensland, today .. I would like to ask if anyone may be interested in supplying my brands in N.S.W., A.C.T., South Australia or WA? If interested drop me a line here or ring me on 0417 311 647.
13.01.2022 The one thing that I did not say about the Aim2Arm compression sleeves was how much they were. And guess what ??? I am still not going to say it now either, but as we get closer to receiving them I will say that Suffice it to say though it would be better to wait for them, I can say that much. But I will say this though the "Volleyball Digging Sleeve" is "One Size Fits All" and the Compression Sleeve is "Youth and Senior sizes". One thing more a lesson in terminology.... as far as I am concerned .. A "pass" is executed via a players fingers as an overhead pass, a "dig" is executed using the arms. Not once on their website does Aim2Arm call their sleeves a "passing sleeve". As they (Arm2Aim) know it is a "digging sleeve" (which they do say).
12.01.2022 Although things are tough right now, we are still here working in the background to see what we can do AFTER the current crisis. We have found one area that we had looked at previously but had forgotten and so will look into then. We here at Sunshine Volleysport hope that all of our customers look after themselves during this time and we hope to talk more to you after this period has ended.
11.01.2022 If after seeing our Molten products you say to yourself "You are not a molten person, and you prefer to use "Mikasa" brand instead, we at Sunshine Volleysport will have you covered not just in Volleyballs, but other things as well. But more on that next month people,
11.01.2022 To show that I am in fact still working at Sunshine Volleysport I have a Chrissy offer for the Volleyball clubs out there wanting to help their players. I am currently offering the Adidas Version 3 White Volleyball Kneepads that are usually priced on this website for $45.00 a pair .. for only $15.00 per pair, but as I said the only proviso being that 50 pair must be bought at a time or until sold out. Call us on 0417 311 647 or email us at [email protected]
10.01.2022 Please note due to price increases in the USA, Ultra Ankle will be raising their prices, we will also be raising ours start the new year. Prices should rise by about $5.00 per brace.
10.01.2022 This week I have shown you that we at Sunshine Volleysport are not going to let prices go through the roof (Just like we kept Mikasa prices down when we were MSA) have we finished, I cannot say that we have...so what else are we going to reduce... is there anything else to reduce ?? Well in actual fact .... yes, there is !! So keep looking at our sites as we won't keep you waiting too long to find out I assure you.
10.01.2022 Just recently you would have noticed that Sunshine Volleysport is becoming even more centric than it has been with regards to its supply of "Volleyballs" and not just any Volleyballs for that matter, but the ones that provide both value for money and quality. Today we have put things in motion to show this. We will prove to Australian volleyball players that we have their interests at heart and not just ticking over our "cash register" for sales of goods that are not always in your interest. In the coming weeks we will update you on how we are coming along with this. I dont know if you realize that we will we will be supplying again the Mikasa MVA300 at a price that a price that will make our "so called" competitors faint.
10.01.2022 On my last post I stated that just because a person says that their business is the biggest volleyball supplier in Australia. Prices are another thing entirely. It may be that a specific item might have a "good" price, but that doesnt necessarily mean that all their prices are good, or... even that only one per category may be cheaper than others. Like I said then Rebel Sports is a big retailer ... but look at their price for a mikasa V300W (picture included). But then look ...at their price for a Mikasa MT-6 Kneepads (also included here), and what is the price from AVW ($40 per pair). If you are volleyballs that are consistently cheaper than anyone one else please checkout my website at www.sunshinevolleysport.com.au we were founded in 1981, and how have we lasted longer than ANY volleyball retailer, because of our Knowledge, Service and of course our prices See more
09.01.2022 Well I will be a "Monkeys Uncle" recently I placed an order for some gear and was told that "You will receive the shipment on or before Thursday 20th December", well that date has come and gone and "no shipment". I contact the supplier, and it turns out that they may not have even sent it, and then forgotten about it all together. I wish I could be angry, but I am perfectly calm, as I was reminded it would not do anything for me to get angry except raise my blood pressure.
09.01.2022 But I may not get much people after the four Mikasa Volleyballs ( MVA200, MVA300, the V200W or the V300W ) as I probably might get from people who will be interested in obtaining even a LOOK at one of these volleyballs.
08.01.2022 What seems a long time ago now I worked with Mikasa to import into Australia 3 ball and 4 Ball carry bags. Now in 2020 the price of said 4 ball and 6 ball carry bags has gone through the roof. The time has now come once again for me to enter the fray and so Next year (January) I will with 3 ball and 6 ball carry bags from for less than $50 (the current Mikasa is $55 for a four ball) and at the moment I wont be saying how much the Molten three ball bag will go for ??
07.01.2022 Here is a VERY HARD question for some Volleyball retailers in Australia to answer ??? Mikasa is the number one volleyball brand in Australia . right ?? So why are they still selling on their websites Molten ?? Ask them which ball is better for you to spend your money on ?? And they will answer Mikasa, so why are they still selling Molten as well ?? People have already asked me, and I have told them already "Value for money wise Molten". But ask the same thing of Elson or AVW and they will say Mikasa !! So why do they offer "Molten" then ??? You are probably asking yourself why I sell Molten ? . simple . I cannot get supply of Mikasa, so something is better than nothing.
07.01.2022 I have just been informed that my latest shipment will be arriving this coming Friday and BOY am I happy about that !! Because in this shipment will be some cheaper priced Desktop Flip Scoreboards, Patella Straps and Knee braces. From 2020 onwards Sunshine Volleysport will have a lot less on offer, but what we will have will be used all the time, rather Shoes, sports socks, etc. To some people it will seem like we are not supplying everything, that everyone else has got . and yes . we wont . we will be offering the volleyball public things that are more for the sport rather than say clothing items. And therefore becoming much different to a store where consumable items are the go. More in early 2020 to come.
07.01.2022 Recently you would have noticed that I have been quoting about the Mikasa MVA300. You probably thought that I was getting my codes wrong.... well ..... no I hadnt.. I intend on soon having both the MVA300 and the V300W models. No other supplier in Australia has availability to the MVA300 except me. This just shows you that being the biggest is NOT always the BEST. And there will be other balls that I will soon have on hand, that will be only available from us. At the moment I cannot say anymore than that.
05.01.2022 Please note that apart from the actual Christmas Public Holidays Sunshine Volleysport will be open for business during the festive break, but also that it will be Christmas and the mail service is not really up to scratch during this time of the year. So merry Christmas to everyone out there !!
05.01.2022 Did you know that in the USA, the higher up Volleyball Clubs do not pay for their training balls. Which is a good thing if you use a "Ball Throwing machine" !!! Why ?? Simple ..... because they quite literally they DESTROY the balls that are used. Just imagine if you would a nice new ball being propelled by a machine that is like using two pieces of VERY course sand paper to propel a ball, so much so, that after a few sessions the machine would reduce a V200W / V300W to a dogs chew toy. These machines have been in Australia for over 10 years, but how many people use them? eh ??? Not many. If something was that good dont you think people would be using them ?? Mikasa Japan warned me off them whilst I was the Australian importer for Mikasa,
04.01.2022 Far be it from me to know all about the differences in Volleyball shoe types and or brands, but the recent "supposed" review of Volleyball Shoes from AVW left me for dead. It told the player absolutely nothing, it was good on telling you how much they were cost wise, but not WHY ?? The brands have their reasons why each pair is a different price, what makes up the shoe, what sort of cushioning it has or doesnt ? Foot support, etc. The only thing that we were told was that some shoe are different colours, and that was all that "some" players went by, which is, as I agree, the wrong thing to go by. Unlike the comparison that I did for example between the Mikasa MVA200 and MVA300.
04.01.2022 Well it had to happen sooner or later, and what is that ? Well AVW has finally realised that Arm2Aim has finally done something after AVW has had it on their website that their sleeves were listed (for a year) as being "out of stock". And that that was AVWs way of saying "dont look anywhere else but us" and then introducing their own brand, which they make more on. For example Have a look at the price of the "Nike" Sleeve for example, and with Nike you only get ONE sleeve, ...the idea of getting a pair came from Arm2Aim. And how do I know this ? .. you have only to look at the "Cramer" brand as it also has been "out of stock" for over a year. But who am I to say anything . as I as yet have also not got my stock on hand as yet, but there is a difference..... it wont take me a year of promising to having in stock, as we have just landed some samples from Arm2Aim and we have not made up our mind which ones are coming in to Australia. See more
03.01.2022 For those of you who are after Volleyball Sleeves , one of the first manufacturers "Arm2Aim" who instead of just having a target on the sleeves actually has a second layer of material for that area of the sleeve is coming back to Australia this time through Sunshine Volleysport. And the best part is that they will cost you starting from UNDER $30 per pair, that is the cheapest price in Australia. Available in Black/Pink, Black/Red, All Black as well as long sleeve All Black.
02.01.2022 You have most likely seen my posts regarding Volleyballs, I said at the time that there was going to be more to come (so to speak), now I can say the first part of that....... Handballs. My interest in Handball was first aroused when I saw an AVW post regarding them supplying the Australian Beach Handball members with beach uniforms, well now Sunshine Volleysport will be going "one better" and supplying the actual Handballs. These new balls will be available after the current COVID crisis. And the brand and Official Partner for the sport of Handball is........
02.01.2022 What is one of the dangers of becoming too big of a retailer in Volleyball ? Answer when you are not big enough to afford being "up to date" with the goods that you have in stock. An example of this is "Australian Volleyball Warehouse" (AVW), and the items Molten BV5000 Beach Volleyballs which have not been available in Australia since 2018, the current ball is the B5B5000. The Wilson Beach Volleyball that is NOT available in White / Yellow any more. As well as the KOB (King of the Beach) Beach Volleyball under the SPALDING brand, which these days is made by Mikasa. And lastly the Molten V5M5500 LEATHER Volleyball, of which Molten Australia has not stocked for at least 5 years more likely 10 years.
02.01.2022 What is the cheapest priced strategy board in Australia ? The answer... Molten at $55.00?? But is that cheapest that it can be bought for ? I hear you ask, and the answer is a firm NO !! How do I know this simple early in the new year Sunshine Volleysport will have them on hand and they will be cheaper than $50 (and yes that includes gst). In fact we will be the cheapest provider of Competition grade Volleyballs, Ball Bags and Molten Coaches Boards in Australia.
01.01.2022 Since the start of this year we have working on getting onto our website the Mikasa Volleyballs (the V200W and the V300W) and more recently (the MVA200 and the MVA300). Everyone can understand the new style, but why the "MVA" style ? Simple ..... they are cheaper !! But for even cheaper volleyballs we still recommending the Molten V5M5000 and the V5M4500 not in quality.... but price.
01.01.2022 Here at Sunshine Volleysport things have been really sleepy, but things are starting to happen very slowly. Transport between myself and America have taken a long time, our last shipment took around 5 weeks to get here. But we are hoping that the next one will only take half that time !! Our newest item from Ultra Ankle (the Comfort Sleeve) will those who feet are "annoyed" by their brace during their initial wearing in period or have had a "operation on their ankle" and want to protect the area. For only $15 each foot.
