20.01.2022 This months guest speaker in sports journalist and author Ben Collins with club president Barry Watson.We should mention some of Bens writings.The Norm Smith book ( 700 Pages) has been written up as one of the best sporting books ever written. That along with the Jason McCartney book where Jason was badly injured in the Bali bombings and made that sensational one game comeback, We got to hear some wonderful stories on many people in the limelight so to speak. Great night enjoyed by all. The meals at Medway continue to please ( in most cases anyway)

20.01.2022 September Dinner Wednesday 25th September 6:45pm for 7:15pm start Medway Golf Club... Guest Speaker- Luke Saffigna Luke is a passionate about wild places. Over the course of his career hes been a National Park Ranger in Tasmania, Senior Ranger at Sydney Olympic Park, worked at Melbournes Royal Botanic Gardens and now works at Melbourne Zoo. Over all those years Luke has also been travelling to and working in Antarctica, its his life passion. Luke is an Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditioner spending time on sub Antarctic Macquarie Island and also works as a lecturer/guide expedition style tourists ships in Antarctica. He will be talking about the last great wilderness that is Antarctica.

20.01.2022 This months Don Deeble Award nominee Lucas Rocci with our club president Barry Watson. Lucas captained the Western Jets and won the Morish Medal as the NAB Leagues best and fairest player.

18.01.2022 Normally our November meeting would have been held last Wednesday with a xmas celebration drink included. He went to school in the west, he played for cricket and footy clubs in the west, and he wrote for newspapers in the west, before going on to become a bestselling author of sport and crime books. Ben has written books with people of the calibre of current Collingwood coach Nathan... Buckley, Bali bombings survivor Jason McCartney and former homicide detective Charlie Bezzina (our friend Charlie). Bens book The Red Fox: The Biography of Norm Smith, Legendary Melbourne Coach, has been described as "the best footy book ever written".
