22.01.2022 We are excited to announce the date for our 'Drama Kings & Queens' VIRTUAL Christmas concert!! Come and join us on the 16th of December at 6pm for a LIVE performance from our members. Sunshine Butterflies famed members Christmas Party was sadly cancelled this year due to Covid restrictions. However, that didn't stop our 'Drama Kings & Queens' from bringing our community some Christmas cheer.... They have now turned their Christmas performance into a Christmas Movie, that will be LIVE STREAMED on our Facebook page for everyone to see! If you'd like to watch this incredible show from our talented members, then click attending on the event and you will be notified before the concert starts! 15.01.2022 Arts & Crafts day with the Lil Boaty Bunch! We were delighted to welcome some lovely visitors out to ‘Our Backyard’ to use our beautiful 5-acre facility to host a basket-making workshop. We love hosting community groups, businesses and individuals at Sunshine Butterflies and showcasing our wonderful programs and activities to the public. ... We have a variety of beautiful and unique indoor and outdoor spaces to offer our guests, all of which are fully accessible and can be tailored to your group's needs. 15.01.2022 Sunshine Butterflies on vacation! Our members and staff took our ‘Social Saturdays’ to a whole new level on the weekend with an overnight adventure to Hervey Bay. The Butterfly crew packed their bags on Friday and headed up the coast to a beautiful resort for a WHALE WATCHING TOUR.... Our members had a fantastic time hanging out with their friends and experiencing the magic of seeing whales breaching in the ocean. ‘Social Saturdays’ has been so incredible for our members who have now experienced a day at the football, an adventure to Cooloola Berries, a Noosa Ferry trip, a visit to a cat café and now a whale watching tour. What an amazing mini-vacation organised by our dedicated Butterfly staff, just look at all those smiles! We provide supported holidays and social events for our members at Sunshine Butterflies. Our aim is to give those living with a disability unique and valuable experiences to help them thrive, make new friends and have fun!

06.01.2022 Our ‘Farmyard Cooking School’ COOKBOOK launching next week! We are so excited to finally bring this to our community and showcase all our Cooking School’s mouth-watering recipes. This cookbook contains a variety of unique and delicious recipes created and perfected by our cooking school team.... It includes a collection of sweets, snacks, mains and drinks, all using local and seasonal ingredients inspired by ‘Our Backyard’. 05.01.2022 Welcoming some fluffy new friends at Sunshine Butterflies! One of our beautiful ducks hatched 9 gorgeous little ducklings this week and we were lucky to be able to watch some of them hatch right in front of us. How cute are they!! These new ducklings are right at home in our Farmyard and are being kept safe and sound in our new stables with their mother duck.... We are so excited to welcome these new little ducks to the furry and feathered team at 'Our Backyard'. If you have any great name suggestions, please comment them below

05.01.2022 MEMBER PROFILE Meet Ebony! Ebony started her journey with Sunshine Butterflies earlier this year and we have loved watching her reach some incredible milestones since being a part of our programs and services. Ebony loves getting active, climbing mountains and swimming. She is a true lover of life and a natural-born leader. ... We were lucky to sit down for an interview with Ebony and find out a little bit more about her and her life at Sunshine Butterflies. What do you love about coming to Sunshine Butterflies? Seeing everyone here! I LOVE all the people. What do you get up to when you come to Sunshine Butterflies? I spend my time in the program and in the community, which is so fun. I am currently part of the new Farmability program, which I really love. I also cook here and I check and deliver Sunshine Butterflies coin boxes to local businesses with my support worker. What’s your favourite program/activity at Sunshine Butterflies? Farmability and music. I take singing lessons, so I love coming here and singing with everyone. What’s something that people may not know about you? My swimming skills. I used to compete around Australia in swimming and running. I have four silver medals and two bronze medals. I’m also currently studying for my prep L’s and getting ready to get my license.
