17.01.2022 Good Afternoon, lovelies! We're back with another #FoodieFriday info dump and this time it's on Vitamin D! Important for general health and especially your bones, vitamin D's main purpose is to help your body absorb calcium. It's also excellent for muscle movement, ensuring your nerves work correctly, and boosting your immune system. While sunlight is obviously the best source of vitamin D, you can check out these foods below too! Salmon Herring and sardines... Cod liver oil Canned tuna Egg yolks Mushrooms #SCAH #sunshinecoastalliedhealth #dietitian #vitamind

15.01.2022 A #WellnessWednesday reminder for you all, courtesy of QLD Health! Especially with Christmas approaching and all the stress associated, it's important to take time to take care of yourself

14.01.2022 We're back this #FoodieFriday with a list of awesome sources of iron! There are 2 types of iron in food: haem and non-haem. While haem sources (such as red meat and poultry) are absorbed more effectively into the body than non-haem sources (such as legumes and veg), it's important to include both in your meals for a balanced diet. Check out where you can get your iron in our list below! liver (chicken, lamb) sardines... kangaroo beef lamb egg (chicken) duck canned salmon legumes (such as lentils, beans and chickpeas) firm tofu tempeh pumpkin seeds (pepitas) and sunflower seeds nuts, especially cashews and almonds wholegrain cereals such as oats or muesli, wholemeal bread, brown rice, amaranth and quinoa dried apricots vegetables such as kale, broccoli, spinach and green peas dried apricots #SCAH #sunshinecoastalliedhealth #dietitian #iron

11.01.2022 On the 11th of November, every year, we honour those who have sacrificed and continue to sacrifice so much for Australia. For their loved ones, for those they do not know. They have ensured our safety and our way of life for years, and will do so for years to come. From all of us at Sunshine Coast Allied Health, thank you for your service.

09.01.2022 It's #WellnessWednesday and we've got a small check in and gentle reminder for you wonderful people. Success, like so many other aspects of our lives, is measured in the smallest of increments. Tiny wins. Choosing stairs instead of an elevator. Cutting your two teaspoons of sugar in your coffee down to one. What is your tiny win, this week? Let us know in the comments below! #SCAH #sunshinecoastalliedhealth #wellness #progressnotperfection

03.01.2022 NUTRITION WEEK TIP 4. SEEK ASSISTANCE. It goes without saying, there's a tonne of conflicting information on the internet about anything ever. Diet and healthy eating is no exception. That's where a dietitian, as a university trained professional, can come in handy. Right off the bat, they can give you the most up to date and scientifically backed information there is. They can cater to your specific needs (whether health or simply your availability due to work) and are the best possible people to seek any dietary advice from. And guess what? We have a dietitian! Give us a call on (07) 5438 1079 to book an appointment now! #SCAH #sunshinecoastalliedhealth #NationalNutritionWeek #sunshinecoastdietitian #dietitian

03.01.2022 Good Morning! It's #WellnessWednesday and we've got a pro-tip -- music can be an excellent mood booster! Are you keen for a killer sesh in the gym? Blast some motivating, upbeat songs and get to it! How about some de-stress time in the bath? Pop on some chill, instrumental tunes and relax. And hey, if sad is the mood you're in, there's sure to be a playlist for that too and that's okay! Sit in your mood, feel it fully, and give yourself the chance to move on. #SCAH #sunshinecoastalliedhealth #mentalhealth #music

01.01.2022 Ladies! This #MovementMonday is for you! If you've ever wanted to get into the gym and lift some weights, consider this your sign -- go for it! There is an unfortunate misconception that the free weights are for the boys because lifting weights will make you look bulky. This is definitely not the case. In fact, lifting weights is vital to creating lean muscle and the body shape you're after. If you're unsure of where to start, an appointment with an Exercise Phy...siologist is an excellent jumping off point. And hey, that's why we're here! Give us a call on 5438 1079 to book an appointment. #SCAH #sunshinecoastalliedhealth #sunshinecoastexercisephysiologist #Weightlifting https://www.healthier.qld.gov.au//5-reasons-why-women-sh/
