25.01.2022 A very big thank you to the whole Team at Sunshine Coast Art and Framing Gallery Mirella, Casey, Jo, Joel, Doc, Paula, and anyone I’ve missed for the beauti...ful job you’ve done of framing two very precious family treasures (I know the aircraft relic was particularly challenging!). Thank you also for the time, patience, and understanding that you showed me during the project. My 87-year-old Mum is absolutely over-the-moon with the design and quality of all aspects of these pieces and she couldn’t believe that her missing head could be added so perfectly to the original photo that’s with the aircraft relic!! 14.01.2022 Original stretched canvas Bush Medicine painting by Margaret Scobie, 1090x970mm. MARGARET SCOBIE Born: 1948 Artist region: Utopia ... Language: Ammatyerre Margaret was born 01-01-1949 at Woola Downs, Northern Territory. Aboriginal people born in this period were given birth dates of the 1st of January as their actual date of birth was unknown. Margarete is an Anmatyrre woman from the Utopia region in Central Australia. Woola Downs is an out station of Ti Tree approximately 190km north of Alice Springs. Margaret is a respected elder woman in her community and still takes time to educate the youth about traditional beliefs and culture. Margaret went to school at Ross Park Primary in Alice Springs. She resides in Alice to date and has three daughters and one son, along with grand children and great grand children. Her family contains a string of accredited artists, including Gloria and Kathleen Petyarre, Ada Bird Petyarre and the late Emily Kngwarreye. Margaret often paints subjects visualising stories of bush medicine, Honey Ant Dreaming and Mountain Devil Dreaming. Margaret excells in her brush stroke technique, so much so that her bush medicine paintings actualise the impression of leaves moving. Although those painting is black and white, Margaret has a wonderful flair for colour in her paintings and is a highly respected artist. Her works represent her culture and country which are a cherishable investment keepsake for years to come.

When I paint I have no concept of time, I’m lost within it... And I love that! Contemporary artist Sharon Hegarty has a bright and vivacious personality that is nothing short of contagious. Her paintings are fresh, lively and very appealing as they emanate her enthusiastic joie de vivre. A trained graphic designer, Sharon completed a Higher National Diploma in Point of Sale Graphics in London. She worked in London and Sydney for major packaging companies as a graphic designer. After moving to the Sunshine Coast in 1989 and having 2 children she illustrated several children’s books. Next she turned her talents to colour consulting here on the Sunshine Coast. She has always had an artistic talent and an eye for colour. As a result of my colour consulting work I realised there was a need for affordable original artworks. Working in acrylics, Sharon’s paintings are typically textured and layered though varied in style. She has a talent for commissions, taking time to listen, understand and to gain a rapport with the client before carefully creating each piece. Her work is an honest celebration of texture and colour, they are always visually appealing. These days Sharon paints full time, working closely with interior designers creating art for residential and commercial projects, units, resorts, display homes and one-off pieces all over Australia. You will find these artworks appearing regularly in glossy magazines. While her paintings are certainly a passion, in truth these more than affordable original artworks are extremely well crafted.

07.01.2022 Look who’s just come back from the framers!! ANGELFISH GIRL is now shining in all her brilliance in her beautiful new frame!! I left it up to the amazing team... at Sunshine Coast Art and Framing Gallery (special mention to Mirela) on how to complete her framed look...and I think she has come up a treat!! The original artwork is slightly floating, and I think the black on black makes her colors pop! The UltraVu anti reflective glass was simply a ‘must’! ANGELFISH GIRL will remain on show in the front of my Studio for viewing for a short term before being placed on display in MI Salon Australia next to her large format wallpaper mural. Further final details to be released soon on how you can secure purchasing tickets to go into the draw for the ORIGINAL framed artwork whilst making a worthy donation towards the Ronald McDonald House Melbourne on behalf of Vanessa and John of MiSalon. 05.01.2022 This custom made gallery wall is the result of great teamwork! Customers Ted and Debbie created their own gallery wall concept using photographs they had taken themselves. To determin the layout they used paper cut to size that could easily be moved and rotated until they were happy with the composition. Well done and thanks for sharing with us!
