24.01.2022 IMPORTANT It is a shame that I have to post this. We are being put in a very uncomfortable position. We must insist that ONE dancer be accompanied by ONE parent/carer only. ... ONE teacher only is allowed per studio. Our emails are being misinterpreted or ignored. To be fair to us and all the other competitors please read the rules and abide by them. Maria, President SCDE

If you haven't received emails from us on the 3rd and 14th of August please check your spam/junk folders. These emails are very important and need addressing asap. If you have been receiving them and haven't let us know your numbers can you please send us an email TODAY ([email protected]) with the numbers. We need to allocate audience tickets over the next c...ouple of days and if we don't have your numbers we can't allocate your studio any tickets. Thank you!

19.01.2022 THAT’S A WRAP Thank you everyone for making SCDE2020 such a massive success! It certainly was an eisteddfod to remember Thank you to all our wonderful volunteers who adapted to ever-changing rules and the unknown way of running our event. Without you all this wouldn’t have gone so well. The hours you all put in have been appreciated beyond words.... Thank you to the parents for adapting to new rules and regulations - we wished we had not have had to be so restrictive with ‘audience’ but these are the rules we had to follow in order to run the event. Thank you to Ash & Ryan from Move Dance Photography and Mat from Limelight Multimedia for capturing this years memories for the dancers and their families. You can still purchase photos - we emailed out the access details but if you can’t find them please get in touch with us. Thank you to Ryan from Showbiz Sound for setting up and amazing ’theatre’ to make the experience feel a little more normal. Thank you to Conroy Dance Centre for allowing us access to your studios for 5 days. Thank you to our lovely adjudicators, Mrs Lyndi Whalley and Mrs Nicky Manego - the feedback you provided the dancers will help them grow. Lastly, thank you to our wonderful dancers for showcasing your talents! We were blown away with how well you have all danced considering we have not been allowed back in studios for very long. Your resilience and dedication is inspiring. Keep up the fabulous work! Unfortunately, we will not have the time to answer people individually in private messages.... Please help our eisteddfod to go ahead by following all current health advice - physical distancing, good hygiene, stay at home & get tested if unwell etc etc. Thank you :)

09.01.2022 And we’re off! It’s been quite a journey but SCDE2020 is all systems go!!!!
09.01.2022 Now that the final dance has been danced for SCDE2020 and we have recovered (well, mostly) from all the months of work it has taken to get to the stage we just wanted to say a massive THANK YOU!!! In this crazy and (dare we say the word again) unprecedented year we finally managed to pull off SCDE2020 in a covid-safe way. We had many times we didn’t think it would happen - first with the solos then the groups. We have been glued to the news, listening to every update, every d...ay, hoping that restrictions wouldn’t mean we had to cancel our event. Thankfully Queensland did the right thing and it all still managed to go ahead. The only disappointment was that we couldn’t run duos/trios and we couldn’t have our interstate studios with us. To all the studios that have supported our event and did all the extra work we asked of them (is anyone sick of sanitiser yet) - THANK YOU! To all the parents who followed our multiple covid-safe plans and helped to make our smaller audience seem not so small with all your claps and cheers. THANK YOU for being amazing dance parents and supporting your dancers. To all the dancers - WOW! What can we say??? You all shone bright on the stage and danced like you’d never even been out of the studio this year. What you’ve achieved is a credit to yourself, your teachers and your parents. We hope you are all very proud of how you performed. The way you all adapted to our 2020 rules and regulations is very much appreciated. THANK YOU! To our venues, The Events Centre (groups ) and Conroy Dance Centre (solos) - THANK YOU for working with us to make it all happen, you are amazing. To all our FABULOUS crew that give up their time to help at the events, we couldn’t do this without you. The laughs, the cries, the ups and the downs, you all make this event the run so smoothly and so much fun! This year in particular has cemented just how much we love you! THANK YOU!
