17.01.2022 This morning Gabrielle Oliphant of Go Food & Fitness gave an interesting talk at the The Business Referrals Club about her two specialties exercise and nutrition. A few things I took away were: 1. I need to read the labels on my food more!; 2. ‘Light olive oil’ is not healthier.it’s just lighter in colour/flavour ;... 3. Jasmine rice and potatoes are high GI; 4. ‘Low fat’ means that something is 3% fat or less; 5. I need to be mindful of my posture particularly while sitting behind a computer, and probably need to get up and do a few stretches every so often. Thanks Gabrielle. 13.01.2022 Dividing up furniture and personal belongings can be one of the hardest and most time consuming issues that arise in a family separation. Often the items in question are not valuable enough to justify involving lawyers to resolve the dispute, yet have a high level of importance to the owners. Mediation can help parties to reach agreements that make sense about important things, like: - making copies of family photographs; - sharing important documents and electronic files;... - dividing items of sentimental importance; - deciding where pets will live and transferring ownership; - splitting children’s items; - sorting out difficult spaces where personal items are intermingled - items in storage; cupboards; garages, sheds etc. There are several different methods that you can decide to use to divide a household of furniture. Using a structured process can help take the stress out of this difficult task. 03.01.2022 This morning I listened to a talk by Mandy Napier at the The Business Referrals Club breakfast about ‘The power of your words’. Some of the things that stuck in my head were: 1. 93% of communication is not the words we say; 2. LISTEN has the same letters as SILENT;... 3. STRESSED backwards is DESSERTS; 4. The wind is my friend and Every step is a step nearer; 5. Nothing others do is because of you it’s all about them; 6. Instead of saying ‘I understand’ try ‘I appreciate’. This is a link to Mandy’s next talk if you are interested: https://mindsetforsuccess.com.au//accelerate-your-product/ Also, I was lucky enough to win the door prize, thanks Paddy Boyle of Duco Magic Sunshine Coast!
