25.01.2022 SMILES ALL ROUND: Here are a few photos of the celebrations in the dojo last week. Congratulations to all of our Little Champions on another great week in the dojo.

24.01.2022 COMMITTED TO EXCELLENCE: Let's take a moment to celebrate these wonderful students. Aarav and Shay (1 Year) Ben (2 years) Lyriic, Nakoa & Mahirah (3 years)... Steven (7 years) Robbie & Jamie (8 years) These students aren't celebrating days and months in the dojo, they are celebrating YEARS in the dojo. 'Commitment' is a quality that we practice in the dojo which becomes a wonderful asset to all of us in our lives. Committing to being just 1% better today sets us on a path of discovering a more fulfilling life. We are so proud of all of our students at the dojo who choose to 'practice' commitment no matter what challenges they are confronted with on this journey. A special thank you to all parents and family members who are being amazing supporters from both the sideline and in the dojo leading by example. Let's Grow!!

15.01.2022 MAGIC!! These Little Champions might be full of joy and smiles celebrating together, but if you get a chance to see them in action, you'd be amazed. Within seconds, these kids can go from filling the dojo with their contagious laughter and joy to making a quick decision to 'focus.' They aren't just focusing their eyes and body, but they are also learning about how to focus their minds. Helping these wonderful kids to practice the art of directing their minds and creatin...g results (that they want to experience) is.... PRICELESS. They quickly realise that they do have a level of control over their lives and they stand taller, breathe more deeply and their smiles are larger than life. Congratulations to all our Little Champions earning new levels throughout this week. I love the balance of 'Fun' and 'Focus' and I can't wait to learn from you all in our upcoming classes. And, yes.... we'll always do our best to help you learn something new and help you find ways to improve on the skills that you have already learned. Let's keep powering along together. Let's Grow!! PS - Thank you to all of our parents jumping into classes and leading by example. INSPIRATIONAL!!

07.01.2022 Online classes are here to stay! https://karate4life.com/online-classes/ Give it a try, 7 days for $7.... For many people, 2020 is going to be a year they want to forget. For better or worse, covid-19 has change everyone's life and there's no going back to what was normal. In the world of karate, we've always taken the traditional approach to teaching. Over 20 years ago, we opened the doors to our first dojo on the Sunshine Coast and within a few years this grew into a full-time dojo. In recent years, the dojo has grown to well over 200 active students and around 30 classes per week. When the QLD government essentially shut down our full-time dojo in late March of this year (2020), we were forced to find a new way. Literally overnight we made the decision to go online and run classes via Zoom. We had always wanted to go online, but had never taken the step. We knew that technology was a great way to create leverage and share what we love to do with more people, but it was always an afterthought. We just never seemed to make the time to do it... until we had no choice. Just 2 days after shutting the doors of our full-time dojo, we opened the doors to our virtual dojo. Within a week we were running close to our normal full-time schedule, plus doing private lessons. It was a steep learning curve and there wasn't much sleep, especially during the first few weeks. Over time, things started to settle down and we became more comfortable teaching classes to a camera in our home dojo. Some students jumped on board almost straight away and embraced the experience. Some students were reluctant, but joined the online classes when they realised that for a while there was no other choice. Some students dropped off and stopped training altogether. It was a strange time but we were all in it together. Social distancing turned into social isolation for a lot of people, so we did everything we could to keep a sense of community within our virtual dojo. We received so many messages of gratitude from students and parents. A lot of people personally contacted us to thank us for helping them to stay on top of their mental health and stay focussed. Above all, most students were just happy to maintain some kind of normal in their life during a crazy time. Fortunately for us in QLD, lockdown has only been relatively short-lived. Within a few months we were able to re-open our dojo and operate under restrictions. Since then, most of our students have returned to the dojo and many new students have also started. But just because our in person classes have started again, it doesn't mean we are stopping our online classes. In fact we've seen great value in the online classes. They give us a different kind of insight in the lives of our students. They allows us to see things that we cannot normally see by teaching in the "normal" way. We witnessed accelerated growth in most of the students who continued training during lockdown. Online training proved to be a great way to teach and learn. For now, we've scaled back the online Zoom classes to 3 days per week. But our goal is to build up the online membership alongside our regular dojo. We still have members who train with us online on a regular basis, but we want to build this up to a full-time schedule. And that's where we want to invite you to get in on the ground floor. For a limited time we are offering discounted memberships to all new students. 50% OFF normal prices. Plus you also get the opportunity to try a it out, 7 days for $7. https://karate4life.com/online-classes/ All you need is an internet connection and a little bit of space. Join us now online.

02.01.2022 Congratulations Sensei Shane & Senpai Christine on your gradings. Great to see more people moving into & through the dan ranks in Australia.

02.01.2022 FRIDAY FLASHBACKS: Nothing like a good waterbomb fight to wrap up a great year in the dojo. And, check out how young some of our karate kids are in these photos. Great memories!!!

01.01.2022 During the holiday season it's easy just to sit back and slow down and stop training. If you haven't yet developed the habit of training, just taking a short break can be enough to fall out of the dojo completely. Karate is not a seasonal "sport", it's something that you need to give time to on a regular basis in order to really gain the benefits. If you're a little bit worried about losing momentum this holiday season, drop us a message and ask about out online training challenge and live online Zoom classes that will be continuing over the Christmas & New Year period this year.
