22.01.2022 We are excited to announce our new Environment Levy Partnership with the Sunshine Coast Council, who will be funding approximately half of our expenses relating to rescuing Sunshine Coast koalas. 20.01.2022 Our management team met with the new Queensland Environment Minister, Steven Miles yesterday in Brisbane to discuss important koala issues and legislation changes. After years of regular meetings with the previous minister, we were glad to have a plan set in place for a trial of releasing desexed koalas, as currently, law states desexed or infertile koalas must be euthanased unless they are chosen by a Zoo or Sanctuary to live in captivity. Less than 10% of females are chose...n, and the rest are killed, including the beautiful girl pictured. Sadly, the new Queensland government has abolished the trial as they do not believe infertile koalas deserve to live in the wild as they cannot contribute to the population.
