21.01.2022 And just like that my working year comes to an end Thank you, to all who supported me this year as Sunshine Coast Natural Health- I truly appreciate it. I started this business from scratch in February, I learnt how to do my own graphic design, website, Facebook ads, booking systems, social media, advertising and so much more. It’s been a ride, an amazing one.... SCNH has been my second home for the past few months and I have come to meet some absolutely wonderful people, I couldn’t be more grateful for the clients who have put their health in my hands and taught me so much along the way. 18.01.2022 TALKING WOMENS HEALTH // Makes me so happy Especially teaching women about their periods.... One thing I often teach my clients (who aren’t on contraception) is about Basal Body Temperature Tracking. It’s a simple way to understand your cycle further. To understand what day you ovulate, to understand how you feel at certain times in your cycle, to understand the regularity (or irregularity) of your cycle. There are some great devices that I recommend too, the main one being @daysyaus . It’s extremely accurate for contraception and fertility, and no medication needed. I’ll be talking more about BBT tracking in the coming week, so keep an eye out. 16.01.2022 Ok so I’ve been pretty silent on the socials lately, and for a good reason too. We’re moving to a bigger space from the 1st March I’m so excited to finally tell everyone, and I’ve been frantically getting everything ready for smooth transition (hopefully).... This new clinic will prove us more room to offer more services, at the moment we’ve locked in Reiki Reflexology Massage/Access bars On top of our naturopathy, and herbal/ nutritional compounding dispensary And more exciting stuff to come. I’ll announce the address and show you some pics ASAP

16.01.2022 TRACKING YOUR BBT and CYCLE// This is something I talk to my clients about ALOT, and something I believe has been missed when educating young women about their period. And it can be done in many ways- via BBT, or cervical mucous, or just tracking your symptoms (OR all of the above!)... But.. Tracking your cycle is SO important for may reasons To monitor the length of your cycle To track what day you ovulate To track when you feel sh*tty AND when you feel great- this can tell us about what your hormones may be doing in particular To track pain- is it ovulation or PMS pain? BUT the main reason, amongst all of these for me, is so that women can understand their bodies and the changes they go through. This so so important to know, because everyone is different and our bodies do go through major changes during the month, we want to understand what the cause, what the driving factors are and what needs to change. 14.01.2022 HORMONES// How many of you actually know how your period works? How many of you truly understand the changes our body encompasses each and every month?... How many of you recognise that hormonal symptoms are not at all normal? Researching and preparing for my Natural Hormone Method Workshop tomorrow evening has got me realising that we were NEVER educated as to what our periods are. We have always been taught about tampons/ pads/ condoms and hormonal contraception but never ever was the focus of our education towards why and how our periods work. How awful is that? Are we just meant to bleed in agony and live with anxiety and depression not understanding that the underlying driving force of these symptoms may be hormonal dysregulation? And if hormones are at all mentioned , how is our first line of treatment suppression and castration by medication that has been made so ‘normal’ that we aren’t even aware of the negative side affects they cause? I challenge you, as a woman, as a menstruating human to question these ideologies and not put up with this anymore. I hope, some day, that young women are taught about their hormones, are educated on NON DRUG methods of contraception, and they understand what and why may be happening when they aren’t feeling right. Let’s band together, to understand and educate

12.01.2022 SUGAR // It can be a confusing topic, that’s for sure. What is sugar? What isn’t sugar? Is fruit ok? There are so many question people have, and so much mis-information out there.... But one thing is for sure, sugar for kids can be BAD. Especially for their immune systems. Did you know that 100g of sugar can disable the immune system by up to 75% for 6 hours? Scary, and no wonder our little ones are constantly getting sick and staying sick for longer than they should. I’m not talking fruit, I’m talking refined sugar. But you would be surprised as to how much refined sugar is hidden in foods. We need to be looking out for it, and if ‘sugar’ is listed in the ingredients, try something else. Do you check labels for sugar or need some advice on what to look for?

10.01.2022 The Natural Hormone Method // A room full of women, laughs, cookies and education chats. I had the best time. Hormones are important to me, I can see how much they affect my clients when they are out of balance.... But I can also see the improvements that can be made when those hormones are supported. Do you, or have you ever had hormone issues?

10.01.2022 SLEEP // For kids and adults There’s no doubt that we need sleep, and sleep hygiene is so important to allow for quality, restorative sleep.... Some tips I give my clients for good sleep hygiene include; 1-2 hours away from any screens (minimum) prior to sleep- blue light within screens will tell your body that it’s still daytime, affecting your natural circadian rhythm and not allowing for natural cortisol reduction in the evening. Getting outside 30 minutes before bed so that your body can see that it’s night time - allowing yourself to spend time in outside when it’s dark tells your body that it’s ready for sleep, allowing for the natural rise in melatonin to occur- our sleep neurotransmitter. A lot of the time we get caught up with events that have happened in the day or will happen the next day, forgetting to allow ourselves to switch off, calm our minds and look after ourselves. This can happen for kids and adults. Understanding and supporting our sleep can greatly improve our overall health, energy and minds. Especially for kiddies, these two tips can be so helpful if they are struggling with getting to sleep or staying asleep

Honestly, starting a business doing something that I love is beyond amazing, but behind the scenes , rushing around, being in and out of doors and constantly tag teaming with my partner has been tough with a little independent almost 3 year old at my feet most of the day But what an experience, and the constant positive feedback gives me the fuel I need to keep it up Thank you, thank you, thank you.
