12.01.2022 Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology TOP PRIORITY FOR IMMEDIATE BROADCAST Severe Thunderstorm Warning - Southeast Queensland... for HEAVY RAINFALL For people in Gold Coast, Redland City, Sunshine Coast and parts of Logan, Scenic Rim, Noosa, Brisbane City and Moreton Bay Council Areas. Issued at 3:02 pm Saturday, 24 October 2020. Line of storms with heavy rainfall over the southeast coast. Weather Situation: The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 2:55 pm, severe thunderstorms were detected on the weather radar near Strathpine, Redcliffe, Caboolture and Numinbah Valley. These thunderstorms are moving towards the southeast. They are forecast to affect Coolangatta, Cleveland and Montville by 3:25 pm and the area southwest of Caloundra, Bribie Island and northern Bribie Island by 3:55 pm. Heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding is likely. 68mm recorded in an hour at Camp Hill. Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should: * Never drive, walk or ride through flood waters. If it's flooded, forget it. * Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees. * Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm. * Beware of fallen trees and powerlines. * For emergency assistance contact the SES on 132 500.

12.01.2022 Multiple Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) crews are currently on scene at a bushfire burning along Bells Creek Road in the vicinity of Bells Creek. The fire is posing no threat to property at this time. Firefighters are working to contain the blaze. Nearby residents may be affected by smoke. Residents are asked to close windows and doors and if suffering from a respiratory condition, keep medications close by. Motorists should drive with caution and to conditions. If residents are concerned their property is under threat they are advised to call Triple Zero (000) immediately.
