22.01.2022 The Orchid Gatherer's work is done. This tenor was challenging and quite fun. I pulled out some very cool woods for this one: Black & white Ebony with some awesome Bearclaw spruce. The scrimshaw is done on faux ivory. No fauxes were killed in the process.

21.01.2022 Our first day back at the RSL and it was a truly wonderful & fun session. Covid restricted but we all behaved as per the safety rules. It was hard to resist giving every single person a hug! Thank you to all our wonderful club members.

13.01.2022 Hi Scumsters, finally home from hospital today feeling pretty much worse for wear. Thank you all for your lovely messages. They meant so much to me. Everyone involved in SCUPH Cardiac Unit are fantastic and I’m so grateful to all of them. Also grateful to have this cadio unit, the only one on the coast. So, just a reminder that we do not have a Scum meeting this coming weekend. I will advise when the next one is happening. Let's face it, it's not just a place to launder your clothes, it's a coming ...together of people, if you will. As the washers and driers go round, so do the gamut of human emotions, suddy, wet and smelling like flowers. These days even a trip to the laundromat can feel a bit special. Maybe you'll find love? Maybe not... We managed to film this just before stage 4 lockdown decended! Big thanks to Sophie Klein for her stella work as camera assistant number 1 and of course her cameo as laundrette arsehole... Every couple of weeks I take a tune fr...om typical ukulele songbooks and add a a few embellishments here and there to add a bit of spice. This time I turn to the tune, "Close to You" made famous by the Carpenters and written by Burt Bacharach and Hal David. The video lasts for about 30 minutes.
